Boot into System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair repeatedly. It should automate all fixes but if it doesn't solve your problem boot back into the Options menu to run System Restore to before the problem began.

I don't see option for system recovery options... version of windows is win 7 home premium that came w gateway pc :( I can go into bios or choose which device to boot from

If you tried using Option One via F8 menu to access System Recovery Options and it failed, then use Option Two by booting the Win7 DVD or System Repair Disk.

Normally when an Update or driver install causes unbootable Win7, Startup Repair will System Restore it quickly. But if not you can run System Restore from the Options list manually.

Let us know how it goes.

Downloading it right now! Its gonna take few hours unforunately (apartment only provides internet from dish :( wtf) but thanks for the link! Hopefully it will work.

Are you going to use the WIn7 DVD to Repair or clean reinstall?

I would try Repairs first since System Restore often fixes boot problems caused by a driver install.

But if you have overall performance issues and are considering a Clean Reinstall, read over these steps to get a perfect reinstall of factory OEM based on thousands we've helped with here: Reinstalling Windows 7

You can rescue any stranded files using the Win7 DVD this way: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
