BSOD during VLC

Hi!
My computer is one month old (custom build, specs at the end of the post) and during the first 3 weeks no problems whatsoever.
About a few days ago it started crashing during VLC, and whenever i put it to sleep (hibernate) it would crash WHILE sleeping, not before sleeping, not when waking up, but WHILE sleeping. it took two aspects: first one would be plain ol' BSOD, the second one would be the computer waking up by itself, but no peripherals would work (no display, no keyboard/mouse even if the keyboard lights were on). i would hardrestart it and it would tell me that Windows crashed. during the bsod's i could get the error code: error 0x000000f4)
i checked forums and it said that it could be drivers or hardware. i changed the RAM slots, checked the SSD using a windows tool (don't remember what it was), unplugged the HDD cause i thought it was causing issues, updated everything until at last the chipset drivers update fixed the sleeping related crash.
But the VLC crash persists. (bugcheck code: 0x124). it says it might be because of heat. so i stress tested my cpu which got to 42C (i have to say it was the first time it got so high) then stress tested my GPU, and for the kicks i played 2 videos, tomb raider on ultra and dota2 on ultra. all 4 re-sized to fit on my monitor so the whole screen would be taken by 4 programs. nothing happened: i don't think its the gpu or heat-related.
i used memtest86 to check the RAM (because at this point why not)

please if you have any questions remarks let me know!

Thank you in advance!

rocco207, Sorry, I messed up and answered you in the wrong thread, which is why we try not to post in other people's threads. It makes it a little confusing. From now on let's please use this thread for your problems.
