Looks like there is a hardware problem with your CPU, its most probably defective
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Please stop any overclocking

Run Prime 95 to test your CPU. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results.

ok i have cpu running stock no overclock, have prime running stress test, so far no problems its only been an hour though.

one thing i find unusual is my hd2 temperature. thats my vertex 3, its running at 128C isnt that high? how do i lower its temperature besides physical cooling? is it defective? how acurate is the monitor im using which is speedfan 4.44, all other temps look fine.
cpu is about 49-54C depending on the core,
gpu is both about 34C
other hdd are 36C and 41C

128C is way too high, this can possibly damage your SSD. Check the airflow in your case. It should not exceed 80C

the case is a lian li 2120v tower. the vertex is located in one of the 5.25" drive bays with a fan blowing outside air directly over it. the slot above and below the drive is empty.

case has 3 fans flowing in from the front. one blows over just the drive. other 2 is used to blow into a 280rad. as for output i have a 360rad up top and a rear fan blowing out. there are 3 interior circulation fans. im not so sure airflow is the culprit.

even from a cold start the drive reads 128c, idk thermo sensor on the drive might be disfunctional. since i took notice of it i've never seen it fluctuate at all.

as for the stress tests, it seems to do fine did 6 hours on small fft, 8 hours on large fft, currently doing blend test. no errors yet.

it might have been the overclock or bluray decoding ive been doing that has caused the bsod. i havent really been using the computer durring the tests. after all the tests ill try do what ive been doing before see if it bsod.

ok, i think i found my problem here, was my overclock.
with cpu at stock i ran all 3 prime95 test fine without any problems. 6 hours on small, 8 hours on large and 24 hours on blend.

initially with an over clock of 4ghz i bsod often, lowered to 3.8ghz still got one bsod. now i just use cpu lvl up on my motherboard to mimic a 965 at 3.2ghz. and havent had any bsod yet.

for a 920 D0 stepping on water this thing really sucks for overclocking compared to what i see what others are capable of.

atleast i found what was causing my bsod, thought at first i might have been my vertex 3 that was causing the bsod like many others have been experiencing.

as for the 128C temp of the vertex, it seem its just a firmware bug since the vertex does not have a temp sensor and 128c was just the default value. found this out by searching ocz forums.

thanks for the help, case closed.

A word about 128 C. I have Mushkin, Chronos 120 Gb SSD, testing software also read 128 C, but on touch SSD is cold like a stone, lol.
