Hello,

Tried to install windows tools to look at the dump file, but it will say .net framework 4 is not the right version. Then I go to install .net framework 4 and it says it's already there as the same or higher version.

Went in circles just want to read the error in dump file (attached), and finally discovered this forum.

Have not had a blue screen since disabling restart, so have not seen the error.
Not sure what is causing the error since cant' read the dump file.

From my event viewer:
---------------------
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could

be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power

unexpectedly.

It appears the problem is associated with Malwarebytes. You might uninstall it temporarily to see if solves the problem.

Would have never guessed that to be it. Have disabled it from starting when Windows starts. Hopefully, that is all it was.

Thanks for checking this file for me!

Glad it worked.

You shouldn't have any trouble running it so I would try reinstalling it. Could be that the Malwarebyte files got corrupted.

Hello,

I got it again, but this time Malwarebytes is not running and got an image of the error.

Have attached an updated dump file (052518-1988232-01), and an image of the blue screen (20190102_115534).

Apparently, this is an issue reading from storage, which makes sense because this is what happens now whenever I run a backup to any of my USB storage drives using Acronis. Right when the backup completes this blue screen is what I get. It looks like the backups complete intact before windows blue screens.

Has anyone seen this problem before where any USB storage drive used will cause this error after a backup with Acronis completes?
Maybe my USB storage drivers are corrupted?

That .dmp file is for a BSOD in May. It shows the problem is malwarebytes.

Since the kernal.................. error and stop code on the BSOD screen can be caused by viruses, might not hurt to run malwarebytes on your system.

If you run eventvwr.exe and look at the general tab for this problem, does it give you any more information.

Ah ok it didn't make a new dump file I guess because auto reboot was turned off.

Seems like maybe it is ram or power supply, although both are relatively new.
It only happens as soon as a backup completes to my USB storage device, so probably the power supply?

Ran Malwarebytes and Spybot with virus protection (use this several times a month) and no issues found.

Will run chkdsk and see if any issues are found there, but the SSD is also relatively new and is of good quality (Crucial).

Thnx

CHKDSK revealed and fixed one bad sector that had a large .dbf in it.
Probably when running the backup to create an image of the running system windows failed as it attempted to include that .dbf into the backup since the dbf file was in a bad sector.
Will know next time try to run a backup I guess.
Thnx

I hope that resolved your problem. I didn't know if CHKDSK would work on an SSD. I should have looked to see what kind of drive you have and researched it. My error.
