Hello!

My computer has been crashing alot lately. I get BSOD within a few minutes of using my computer. Earlier than this I had issues with my internet connection, even when using an ethernet cable. My network adapter would get a Code(10) saying it couldnt start, so I tried downloading a newer driver. I tried several times to update it but I was told it was up to date. Then I uninstalled it, also tried changing the settings so windows wouldnt automatically install, but I still have trouble. A lot of the BSOD occur if I am trying to use the internet. I tried updating my display driver as well, but the NVIDIA installer keeps saying the install failed. I tried downloading the newest BIOS from the manufacturers site, but I got BSOD special_pool_detected_memory_corruption.

EDIT: I have also run disk check.

What is also strange is that only a few days ago I moved my computer to my bfs place, and prior to the move I've only encountered windows freezing once in a while. Then after maybe two or three days of use, we started getting crashing. So we tried moving my files and doing a clean recovery in a desperate attempt to make it all go away. Then I tried looking on the internet for people with similar problems, but it all just seems so specific. I also turned on Driver Verifier as it should apparently give more useful dumps or something.

I have changed nothing on my computer, other than doing a recovery a few months ago and now hooking my computer up to his monitor, mouse and keyboard. And I think the computer is outside warranty too.

I really hope somebody can help. I moved the computer to his place because I wanted him to have a nice computer to play games like Guild Wars 2 and such on. I feel so bad that he barely got to use it at all.

If you can help me I would really appreciate it.

Sorry, I posted the same link twice. Please do it this way:
o Download and install |MG| Driver Fusion (Driver Sweeper) 1.2.0 Download
o Reboot the computer in Safe Mode from Advanced Boot Options
o Boot into your computer normally now.
If your Windows version is 32 bit install the 32 bit if its 64 get 64 bit

I need your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this:

  • Click on the Start :orb:
  • Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
  • When it opens, go to File, Save
  • Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
  • Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
  • Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder
  • Upload the .zip file here.

  1. Did you install the drivers in the way mentioned in my post #4?
  2. What antivirus are you using?
  3. Get the latest version of your BIOS.
  4. Install all updates from windows updates.

I think I did. I installed all three and I rebooted after installing driver fusion. I had some trouble getting into safe mode, because apparently somebody thought it would be a great idea to use F8 for something else than just advanced boot.
safe mode - F8 not showing "Advanced Boot Options" on a Windows 7 PC - Super User
Then I crashed and I had the option for safe mode.
I haven't had a chance to install anti virus because of all this, but the one that came with the computer is Bullguard. I normally use Avast!.

I'll try installing the latest version again, hopefully I wont crash. :)
EDIT: BSOD special_pool_detected_memory_corruption first try.

Lets enable driver verifier to rule out buggy drivers.

infosmall1.png
Information

Driver Verifier runs in the background, "testing" drivers for bugs. If it finds one, a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) will result; the corresponding dump file will hopefully show the faulty driver.

Driver Verifier monitors kernel-mode drivers and graphics drivers to detect illegal function calls or actions that might corrupt the system. It can subject the drivers to a variety of stresses and tests to find improper behavior.

Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.

Hey, I tried updating the driver but I think I was unsuccessful. I tried compatibility mode, but it didnt make much of a difference. I tried installing the latest version of the bios again and crashed.
Here's the last few dumps.

Hi

Is any of your hardware overclocked?

And you may please disable driver verifier now. It's not providing any useful information but just blaming windows files.

I re-read the entire thread again and need to know, did you guys plug-in all the stuffs correctly after moving to your bfs? Did you recheck for any lose connections?

I checked behind it to see if anything was loose, but it all seems alright. I haven't been overclocking and all components are the same as when I bought it.
