BSOD Keeps Happening Every Night.

I can see it triggering it, yes. But being the root cause? Not sure, but probably unlikely. It sounds as if when you place Firefox cache in RAM, it can grow to an extent where it's hitting bad RAM that normally would not be reached. There may also just be bugs in Firefox for this setup, or the cache may be overextending its boundaries and trying to fill up more RAM than is permitted. Try opening Task Manager and go to the Performance tab and watch it periodically as you use Firefox. If Firefox crashes check to see if the amount of RAM used up total is high (75%+).

I'm sorry for holding things up for ya, skip, but when I thought I'd have enough time to look at this things have come up. I unfortunately also won't be able to take a look at it over the weekend, so it'll have to be at Monday the earliest. Just leave Driver Verifier and if it does what you said it did before your system will keep stable. If your system is still unstable and BSODs with DV on, then we might have a fighting chance.

Btw, I don't recall that you reported back on those hardware tests I recommended on Page 3. Why don't you run through those while we wait, since it'll take a couple nights to get through em.

No problem. Should I run those tests with DV on?

Hi, did you manage to run the tests, despite me being unable to get back with you on it to answer your question? Also, I won't be able to check the file out today, busy busy. I might be able too tomorrow or Wednesday if these new systems don't come in that I have to install.

Ok, just tried running the Prime95 Torture Test - Blend.

My computer rebooted after a few minutes. Tried it three times and each time, my computer would reboot. The third time this happened, there was a dump file created along with the attached.

Tried to run the Torture Test - In-place large FFTs.

Ran it twice. The first time, there was a BSOD a few minutes after starting the test. The second time, tests were completing, but experiencing errors.

I've attached the files from the BSOD that occurred during the first large FFT test.

The system is in a mini-ITX case and this is the most powerful SFX power supply available right now. If you go to [H]ard Forums, there are many, many people using this power supply with higher-end builds (GTX680s, mechanical / spindle hard drives, etc.).

If that is the the best power supply for you little case so be it. I was going by the fact that your video card recommends a quality power supply of 500W minimum.
If you will post the thread on that website I will gladly read it.

I have read about 3 pages in that post. It states that many use that power supply with your card as long as they don't use things like Furmark or Prime 95 to load the system it works. It doesn't much mater if the highest power and quality you can fit in your case is that power supply. The only reason I posted my question was when a system like yours has a high demand on it a bigger better power supply would be better. If they don't make one yours will have to do. Thanks for the website.

So all the issues I'm having could be tied to not having enough juice to run the hardware? I did uninstall BOINC a week ago and the BSODs did seem to lessen in frequency.

Does BOINC use NVIDIA GPUs to help with computations? I've always let BOINC use up at most 50% of my CPU.

I guess what I'm trying to say nicely is you have limited yourself because of your choice of power supply and case. Your power supply has 1 single 12v rail at 37 amps. Your video card will require about half of that 37 amps. To me SilverSone is middle of the road power supply. That is if the power supply works up to the standards the manufacture claims. This to me means that to do any work with this computer you are going to be working this power supply very hard creating heat in a very small case that will have problems dissipating the heat. You have a lot of nice hard ware that is being hand cuffed by the case and power supply. This might not solve your problem but it will help your system to work at it's potential. I have found some manufactures of that nVidia card recommend 600W power supplies. It all depends who makes it.
Testing high end hardware with a low end power supply makes absolutely no sense to me. Of course this is my opinion and suggestions.

Time to buy a new case and PSU then. It needs to be small though. SilverStone does have an ITX case that comes w/ a 600W PSU. Model is SG08. Not as nice to look at IMHO and that is a factor since the PC is sitting on top of my desk. :p

Hopefully all of this really is just the result of not having enough power.

I can go micro ATX, but I'd really like a more compact case. I do have a spare SilverStone SG03. That's the most compact micro ATX case I could find. I can shove any ATX PSU into there. I have a spare 650W ATX PSU as well w/ a single 57A 12V rail.
