Hi,

I haven't had an issue with my Windows 7 for a long time, but since last week, I am getting BSODs all over the place.

Mostly, I have noticed it happening with the browser (Chrome) on, and the blue screen shows "error writing to read only memory" several times.

Attached is the zip file from SF_Diagnostic_Tool.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Sameer

Hello Sameer,

Norton contributes to BSOD. Please remove it for testing purpose.

Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-
   Warning
:warn: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
Scan with Kaspersky TDSSKiller:
ESET online scanner:
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable!:-

To perform a clean install of a driver, follow this tutorial:
Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall stubborn software. Opt for Advance Mode while uninstalling which allows you to remove leftover registry:-
Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:
Post a screenshot of your Hard Drive(s) using Crystal Disk Info software:
Run a Hard Drive test:
Keep us posted.

Hi koolkat77,

I followed your instructions below and updated most of my drivers, but I couldn't find updates for some. The blue screens did not stop, so I ended up taking the easy way out and re-installed my Windows 7 (from the manufacturer's disk).

Now I only have Chrome, Norton and Office on the Windows 7. I have installed all Windows updates as well.

Unfortunately, I still get Blue Screens :( attaching my latest SF Diagnostics Tool results.

I don't know what to do at this point.

Sameer
