Solved BSOD New system build, memory_management and kmod_exception_not_handle

I am running
Asus P8z77-v LK (new)
Intel i7 3770k ivy bridge (new)
coolmaster 212 evo (new)
running 8GB of two 4gb sticks of the crucial ballistix sport)
9600 nvidia GT 2GB vram (from old build, also just using it as a dedicated card for physx)
560 nvidia GT 1gb vram (this was new on my old machine, it's still fairly new)
Corsair Professional Series AX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (AX750) (this was new on my old build, it's only a year old now. Amazon.com: Corsair Professional Series AX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (AX750): Electronics )

Really fast, about the RAM. when I first built this new pc, i got 16 GB of that crucial ram, 4 sticks total, found 2 had errors in memtest, so i rma'd those. I stuck with the other 2 which tested fine, cept prime95 they get an error sometimes. I finally obtained the other 2 new sticks, so i thought, lets take the current 2 out, put these 2 new ones in to double check if they are faulty, or maybe they'll not cause any problems, 'cause that'll tell me if the other 2 sticks i THOUGHT were good, could have really been bad, and that memtest didn't find anything, but prime95 had that one error thing for them.

So i have these other 2 new sticks, in the slots my previous sticks were in, so I am still running 8GB just with the 2 new sticks i got in yesterday, and stuff seems to be even smoother. I test them on prime95 here and there for 10 minutes each, and haven't seen any errors yet, cus the other 2 sticks, they'd have an error sometimes within 10 min of prime95

So maybe it was the ram. Not sure, still have to use the computer more. I may try to let the adobe thing enabled on start up (it was causing me to blue screen on logging into windows) and see if it still blue screens still with these new sticks of ram in.

Also, yes, i have cpu running and the volts stay round 0.816v to 0.832v on idle, but if, lets say, i run prime95, the volts jump up to 1.048v

I tried looking for the RAM settings in bios but could not find out where to change it from 1T to 2T

But so far stuff seems fine. and I am going to try to force bsod (enabling what was causing it to bsod before) and see if it still does with this new ram.

On your AI Tweaker in Bios, you should have a section called Dram Timing Control, open that, set the timings as exactly on the sticks, CR is set to 2 for 2T. Also, manually set the Dram Voltage to what is on the sticks. The first 4 timings is all you need to worry about.

Yes I had looked in that section in the BIOS. Before I change anything, I am still running these 2 new sticks, and will see if problems continue to occur. If they do I will then change settings in the bios. By the timings to set exactly of the sticks, do you mean 9-9-9-24 (that's what the sticks are suppose to run at) so I should change it to those numbers?
And the sticks are suppose to use 1.5v so make that manual to 1.5v as well?

I have also enabled adobe and my printer drivers up on start up (which caused the other bsods), and so far no bsods. I am going to continue to see if I get any problems.

So far these 2 new sticks are treating me well. It may have just been the ram... we'll see soon enough!

Top quality PSU btw ;)

If your getting any errors in Prime95 there will be a potential problem so yes it may be a good idea to manually set the timings for the ram as long as you get them exactly right.

If your system is running fine with no problems then leave well alone

Yeah I love this PSU it's great!

I test with prime95 here and there and so far no errors, unlike what the other 2 sticks I thought were good gave me. :D I think it was the ram then, memtest didn't show errors on those 2 sticks I had in before with 9 passes. Prime95 showed errors sometimes.

Also I noticed, as I stated before, how my google chrome would crash it's webpages and such randomly, well, that hasn't happened once! Startups on my PC are smooth as butter, programs don't randomly stop working (before it'd be maybe 1 program every 2 days or so), startups load everything up, because before it would sometimes not load the LAN driver so I didn't have internet till I restarted and it worked.

I really think it was the ram. I am going to reinstall my printer drivers to try to force bsod it, and see if it blue screens. So far adobe hasn't blue screened it, and it was before. :)

I will mark this as solved in the next couple days if everything is well!

Also, should I reformat my computer one last time? I feel like it'd be a good idea since the ram was bad I feel like some stuff wasn't installed well enough and it'd be nice to just get a 100% working install, especially now that I know (or which I think) the ram was the problem.

You guys are all awesome, you all really helped me a lot here!

Well, I'm guessing the bsod problem is solved.

It was the ram.

I will mark this thread as solved after I reformat and confirm everything is running smooth after a couple days. :)

Anyone who is looking around at these issues, check your ram every way you can, memtest, prime95, see how programs run or if they crash consistently.

Some new cables also aided a better installation of windows, as I had the same ram in. So double check those!

I could not have had this great help if it wasn't for these guys on here. I've also learned a lot of new ways to further test hardware and diagnose problems. I'd like to thank all of you! (watch my computer blue screen soon lol) I'm pretty sure it's good, everything is running like on my old build, but faster and better :)

I'd take you all out to lunch... but..

Thanks :D I really do appreciate all the help and your time

Once again, I will marked as solved after reformat, and after a couple days if it's running like it should be :)

That's great news. I hope your problems are resolved. Don't worry about dinner, I'm too expensive anyway. It would cost lot more than I'm worth. If you have any further problems let us know. Good luck.

Ok, yeah, no bsods. :) was for sure the ram. can't believe i got two pairs and they both were faulty. lol. oh well, it's good now. I appreciate all the help!

If anyone wants to know the solution, I stated what it was for me in my previous post. Do ram tests (memtest, prime95), get good cables. :)

Thanks for all the help guys! Marking this as solved, :D
