Hi!

I had a tons of various BSOD, still can't figure out the cause. It happens randomly (but I get most frequently when I play, for example Battlefied 3), got some when I was away from my PC.
I tried already:
- Memtest86: 8 hours run, no error
- Windows Memory Diag, no error
- Windows 7 Reinstall
- Newer ATi driver (and after the win reinstall, I installed the newest drivers I can get)
- Uninstall Avast!
- Installing Microsoft driver to my sound card
- Disable my onboard soundcard and use my USB one (C-Media)

When I first tried driver verifier It got a problem with daemon tools's driver, had to disable it, I didn't try it since.

I had some problem with the SF tool, got an exception when it tried to copy the update log.
I lost half of my memory dumps, becouse I ran CCleaner recently and forgot to turn off the dump clean.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Edit:
- Never overlocked anything.
- Ran Check disk on my drivers, got no error
- Sea Tools, short drive self test, all Pass
My Power Supply: HKC USP5565 ver2.2 (Maximum power: 565 W )

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Disabling it is not enough. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :

  • Double click to open it.
  • Click this button only:
  • 2012-12-13_224441.jpg
  • If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Two avast drivers viz aswrdr2.sys and aswtdi.sys are causing huge problems there. You are saying that you have uninstalled Avast? Its required. Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Some game specific crashes are there, caused by battlefield.

BUCKET_ID: X64_RAISED_IRQL_FAULT_bf3.exe_nt!KiSystemServiceExit+245
Contract the game developer. There must be some settings or latest patches to run that game good on your system.

Always try use the up-to-date display driver, unless it is a faulty one.

Update your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Thank you for your reply, now I am working on it, I will keep you updated.

I uninstalled Avast! a week ago, reinstalled when I got BSODs despite I had no Antivirus.
I had no SPTD to begin with, but I uninstalled daemon tools now. (What should I use instead? I always used daemon.)

My PSU: HKC USP5565 ver2.2 (Maximum power: 565 W )
I calculated ~388W

My Speccy, without heavy load, but I never experienced high values:

Speccy looks good. It is not overheating.

With or without SPTD, Daemon tools is a crasher. I would suggest you to use 7-zip or winrar instead. They can extract any ISO file.

If you have avast .... uninstall it.

I uninstalled Avast!, it is not like I am stick to it. Right now I am installing the vga driver as you suggested (driver only).

Sometimes I can play a day without a BSOD, so maybe this discussion will be drawn out.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

First make it sure that the verifier is actually running. Run the following command in a command prompt ....

  • verifier /query
If the DV is actually running and the PC is being normally used, and still there is no BSOD, it at least somehow minimizes the chance of a driver caused BSOD. So disable DV in that situation, and let us know how the computer is running.

BTW, I will not go with VirtualCloneDrive or any other program as an alternative of Daemon tools; as it works at the same way. It puts a similar SCSI adapter like SPTD. Better I'd use either 7-zip or winrar, which can extract any iso image file, and thus does the job. Moreover, for a desktop PC, it is good to use a real ODD, not any emaluator one. Those are thoughts of netbooks.

I don't really know what to say, after one month of normal and smooth usage, I started to get BSODs again.
(I tried some AV software though, because I couldn't install MSE, but I uninstalled them already.)

Right now I am preparing a clean windows 7 install, I hope I can get rid of the problem. (I downloaded the most recent drivers already).

So it is related with your Display/Graphics. Uninstall the existing display driver using AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility . Then install a fresh copy of your ATI/AMD display driver.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

Yes, you have tried. I know. But if display is failing, these are the places where the reason is to be searched....

Or simply change the GPU first, and then, depending on th condition, the PSU too.

I tried to boot up a Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit DVD just now, to make a clean install. However, I got an error:
An unexpected I/O error has occurred when installing Windows 7- Error 0xc00000e9
No USB HDD or pen-drive was plugged in and the DVD is working on my laptop.
Possible connection?

Edit: It is working if I use an USB win7 installer (created from the same ISO image as the DVD)

I would like to, but I don't have any spare VGA/PSU. :(

Your specs say Enterprise, now you say you're trying install with Ultimate now? Which version do you own?

Test your HD with the maker's HD Diagnostics extended CD scan, followed by a full Disk Check.

If HD passes both, boot the installer to wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command, then begin install. Unplug all other HD's.

Links to these are in the Troubleshooting and Clean Reinstall tutorials in my signature below. If you'll stick with those same steps in reinstall tutorial you will get and keep a perfect install.

I already reinstalled the OS : ( (not as you suggested, but with partition formatting), I own a Win7 Professional 64bit, but I use it on my laptop, so..
I am going to run the WD HD Diag (Diag504fCD.iso).
