Solved BSOD on cpu windows 7 while playing "recorded tv" on xbox

If I go to my TV to which I have an Xbox 360 Slim 250G set up as an extender; it connects ok to my Windows Media Center version 11 on my Windows 7 computer. If I try to play recorded tv from the Xbox; my windows 7 computer which hosts windows media center crashes BSOD with message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL The crash dmp files mention ntoskrnl.exe, and Realtek 8136/8168/8169 PCI/PCIe Adapters by module rt64win7.sys. Everytime I try and play recorded tv; it is consistent and crashes the computer each time. If I play live tv; it streams fine.

Cannot find where to look for drivers on the realtek.com site

I cannot find anything that looks like 8136/8168/8169 PCI/PCIe Adapters ; the model numbers they seem to show all start with things like RTL

I've just checked your MSINFO32 and your Realtek PCIe GBE controller is listed as a RTL8167

I think I found it here: Realtek

I downloaded the files, then I opened the device manager - hit the update software button - and it updated. Do I have to reboot?

THANKS SO MUCH. That fixed my issue. I can play all kinds of "recorded tv" from the xbox now!!! You are a champ! Stange this is; is that I lost internet connectivity a few times since I updated that driver. I decided to unplug my wireless router which stored my isp information and sits in front of my dsl modem. Then I unplugged my dsl modem. Left both off a few minutes; then turned them both on - so now I am back on the internet. I do not know if strange things will begin to happen or not since updating the driver. But at least no more BSOD!!!! Glad to give you some rep!! Best Wishes, Ken
