Hey guys, I just build a water-cooling PC myself a few days ago. This is also my first time building a pc, so of course I would run into some trouble.

Since I finished this PC, I just randomly experience this BSOD problem. Before today, it seems that it only happens when the PC is idle and running any program. Today, however, it crashed while I was gaming. I have uploaded the zip file as the instruction indicated with this post, please let me know if there's any information I need to provide.

I just put in so much effort into this PC, and I hope it will work. Thanks a lot, guys!

p.s. I downloaded a computer cleaner software after the BSODs in a desperation to fix the issue, that's why the old dmp files are all gone. Now there's only one dmp file in the computer since it crashed once after I used the computer cleaner software.

Your one dump file says

Code:
WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)
A fatal hardware error has occurred. Parameter 1 identifies the type of error
source that reported the error. Parameter 2 holds the address of the
WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure that describes the error conditon.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, Machine Check Exception
Arg2: fffffa801b755028, Address of the WHEA_ERROR_RECORD structure.
Arg3: 00000000bf800000, High order 32-bits of the MCi_STATUS value.
Arg4: 0000000000200401, Low order 32-bits of the MCi_STATUS value.

That error code is a generic hardware error that gives no information on which piece it is. So, it would be very helpful if you could put as much info into your system specs as possible. Please include all components including you PSU and what type of water cooling you have. Manufacturer and model numbers help as we often have to look up components.

Please uninstall all Gigabyte Utilities completely. They are known causes of BSODs. If you are overclocking anything, please set everything to default levels. What cleaning software did you install? Do not use it anymore.

Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

2. I used RegCure Pro to clean my computer after several BSOD episodes.

3. I don't think I installed any Gigabyte utilities.

4. The cmd thing is done, and there's no "integrity violations".

5. I'm not over-clocking.

p.s.

1. Since the Extreme Indigo TIM that came with the CPU water block didn't reflow properly, I used Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste for my CPU water block instead. The CPU temperature never rose above 50 Celsius though. When it's idle, the temperatures are below 40 Celsius.

2. The system crashed two more times while sitting at desktop running nothing just now. Should I attach another zip file to include the newest dmp files? Or should I just let it run overnight and generate more dmp files to have a bigger sample size and upload the zip file tomorrow?

Thanks again for the help! Really really really appreciate it.

Isn't OCTouch service a Gigabyte Utility? as is easy tune, OC Button Tool, GIGABYTE Smart Switch, System Information Viewer, V-Tuner and a few others?

Please do yourself a favor and uninstall RegCure Pro.

Can you provide any more info on what is causing your BSODs? I know that the Gigabyte Utilities will make you throw 124 errors. I am trying to avoid running hardware tests for you. I usually start out with memtest86+. With your rig, that is a 40 hour test. But, it is also the one thing that can cause all the other errors to be wrong. So, we will try a couple of other things first if we can, but I am trying to spare you that.

1. Nice catch! I actually just noticed that I have OC button installed after I made the post. I went to control panel - uninstall program, and saw that there is one program whose publisher is Gigabyte and it is the OC button thing. I have uninstalled it. Regarding the other things you mentioned, I did not see them in the uninstall program window in control panel. Any way to make sure I uninstalled all the gigabyte affiliated stuff?

2. Regarding the context in which I had BSOD. I had about 8,9 episodes of BSOD since I finished building the PC. All of these episodes except for one occurred when the PC was idle, sitting at the desktop screen. In the background, I have fraps, speedfan, Norton anti-virus, steel series engine running. The one exception was when I was playing the Witcher 3 today and I had one BSOD.

3. I will uninstall RegCure Pro.

Thanks again!

Please go to Device Manager and see if you see any yellow triangles on any items there, also hold the windows key down and press R, you will get a search box, type msconfig in it and go to the startup tab and disable everything not necessary. The Windows needs nothing to start with it except your Anti Virus and possibly the Sidebar if you use it.

Go to control Panel, uninstall a program and post a screenshot of everything you have installed. It may take several screenshots, but that's OK. This will tell you how to upload everything here.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/9733-screenshots-files-upload-post-seven-forums.html

We'll see if we can see anything there.

I would also reinstall my Video drivers using this method. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html

Please uninstall Norton and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows). MSE is the only AV to never have caused a BSOD. You can try it for a test, but a lot of people use it all the time. I used it for years and never had a problem.

Hi essenbe,

I have followed your instructions yesterday:

1. No yellow flag in device manager.
2. I have replaced Norton with Microsoft Security Essential.
3. I have uninstalled RegCure Pro.
4. I have disabled all unnecessary startup programs.
5. I have reinstalled the graphics driver following the instruction link.
6. A screenshot of "Uninstall a program" is attached.
7. I uploaded another zip file which includes three more dmp files just in case there's anything new.

I'll use the Norton removal tool and uninstall Nvidia Experience. Actually since I followed your instruction from yesterday, I haven't had any BSOD in the past ~4 hrs, which is a good sign. I'll let you know either whenever I have another BSOD, or if I can keep going till tomorrow night without having BSOD, I think it means it's fixed. finger crossed... Thanks! :)
