I left my computer on for an hour or so and when I came back it had shut off. When I booted my PC it told me it had crashed due to a BlueScreen. This has happened on a couple of occasions.

Hello zuiaki mate have you got any external controller devices hooked up to the machine as there is a hit on something amiss with an Xbox controller?? if you have it may just be a driver for that device issue.

You are running an ASUS Product ID (PID) on an ASRock board.
This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
Code:

Ok well if you can do without it I would try the machine with that device disconnected. If all goes well then perhaps redoing the driver for it may be worth a shot as well.

I am not really a gamer of any sort and not sure just how those devices work to be honest.

Well seems like Layback and Axe are right and in case you are wondering how it is - you only have to look at the OEM Product ID.
So you have an Acer machine yet it is installed with an Asus Product ID licence - something that unless I have it terribly wrong that cannot be done.
Now again unless I have it very wrong the different manufacturers are issued a set OEM Product ID listing which allows them to install Windows on their machines only - they cannot use another machine manufacturers OEM Product ID listing code/number.
Anyway both Layback and Axe can fill you in re the intricacies of that system.

Well windows have been bugging me, telling me to upgrade to windows 10. I'm guessing that would fix this problem? I've had the computer for a year and it has never told me my copy wasn't genuine.

Well in theory you can clean install 10 and activate it via the generic code but I think I am right in saying that to get the machine as a dedicated install of 10 you need to use the code for the 7 install you have on your machine but as yours is coming up non genuine that is not going to happen.
This is what I did with my two machines with 10 on them and my 7 keys are now replaced forever with the dedicated 10 key for my machines.
I did it this way because I was fed up with the upgrade approach which had more issues with it than was worth the grief.
The only way you are going to get 10 on is to either buy a key for it or an OEM or get a new 7 install and use it's key to go to 10. In any case it is going to cost you.
Having said that it might be worth calling Microsoft and explain to them that you have got this install on your machine and did not know it was non genuine and what can you do about it. They may advance you a fresh key/code and from past experience they have been really helpful in doing just that. Of course it would be a one off for that machine.

Nothing is counterfeit, but the computer is custom built.

It is counterfeit for the reason axe0 posted, you need to get a legal install for any further help.
