Solved BSOD playing any game, error 0x00000116 (dxgkrnl.sys)

The GPU is weak. It will not be able to take the loads of the games those will want resources more than that you run in the furmark test.

What do you mean by "weak"? Is it faulty? Should I have it replaced?

At least you should see the situation with a replacement GPU.

It is not faulty per se, as it is not causing BSODs during the stress test. But it is not working at the optimal stress test settings, and not doing the stress test smoothly; so it is weak to take load.

I'll do that as a last resort: I don't have the hardware nor the tools for a test with a replacement GPU, and furthermore I wouldn't know how to replace it. It was the first time I opened a laptop and I was shocked that there was no actual "Video card", but rather just the GPU directly on the MoBo. That means replacement = samsung support, and I have a really bad experience with them.

On a separate note, I've found a possible fix on a forum:

Well I personaly have had a problem with the m series of nvidia (540m personally), my computer would blue screen giving nvlddmkm.exe as a problem. I have found a solution that works for me and may help others.

Normaly you will be told this is a hardware issue and that could be the case, but for me it appeared that the nvidia graphics card had trouble at its stock clock settings, so for a possible solution I have under-clocked it by 150mhz on the graphics clock and 200mhz on the processor clocked. It appears that the problem is optimus, when at stock setting optimus wants to run it at overclocked settings and that causes a hardware failure, when at lower settings optimus still works but just ups the settings to stock settings at max(for me at least)

DO THIS AT UR OWN RISK, EVEN THOUGH UNDERCLOCKING POSES NO DANGER IN MY OPINION YOUR WARRANTY COULD BE VOID, I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR UR ACTIONS AS EACH SYSTEM IS DIFFERENT, IF YOU ARE CONFIDENT IN YOURSELF AND ONLY THEN DO THIS.

instal it and accept their disclaimer if you wish to proceed, to do this go to:
1) control panel
2)Appearance and personalisation
3)Nvidia control panel
4) set settings to performance if not done so already and then do the following

the new control panel should have a new performance tab, accept the disclaimer and it allows you to alter stock settings, I DO NOT SUGGEST YOU OVERCLOCK THIS!!!! ESPECIALY IF YOU GET THIS PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do suggest you lower you graphics clock speed by 150mhz and processor by 200mhz, this will not cause damage if done correctly, my diablo now ran for 20 hours non stop without a graphics error/sound loops/ or blue screen of nvlddmkm.exe.

this solution worked for me for not just diablo 3 but many games that i believe optimus technology fails in, you are free to try this and report back if it helped, if not report back anyways that it was useless, the more info we have the better.

What do you think? Is it worth a try?

Frankly speaking, I have no idea about nvidia system tools. If you want, you may give it a try.

Basically I just lowered the GPU graphics clock from 672 MHz to 522 MHz. This also automatically lowered the GPU processor clock from 1344 to 1044 MHz.
Furthermore, I downloaded the last Intel Graphics HD drivers (mine, aka Samsung's, were 2 years old).

I'll do some testing and let you know.

After more than 30 minutes of Dead Rising 2, it didn't crash. Temps were still quite high (95°C for the CPU and 90°C for the GPU as max temps), but I had no problems whatsoever.

I'll let you know if this changes.

Seems like underclocking the GPU worked like a charme. I played through two whole games and I didn't have a single BSOD. Thank you for your help.
