BSOD Playing games Flight Sim X And Diablo 3

Hi there,

In the last few days I have started getting BSOD's When playing games, The two mentioned in the title specifically. They will run OK for around 5/10 mins then BSOD. The only change I have made to the system in this time that i can think of is updating my ATI driver, But I did that after this started happening.

My PC is WIN7 OEM Home premium
Intel Core i7 920
ATI 6970
6GB RAM.

You have a lot of startup programs. Read through http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html and have only Microsoft Security Essentials (MSC) startup enabled. No need to disable any services; startup items would be sufficient.


Crashes caused by your ASUS Xonar DG Audio Interface driver. Update your current driver to the latest. If you need help, fill in your system specs in your profile and not in a post in this thread. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html can help with filling in the system specs.

Thanks for the reply, It's interesting that it blames the BSOD on the audio driver. Whilst I was waiting for a response I did a fresh install of my ATI drivers and it's not crashed since.

I'll check out the audio drivers though.

Well it just happened again. I have downloaded the ASUS driver but when i try and install it, i get a message telling me I don't have any ASUS Card installed. Also if i try and open the ASUS driver that's already on my machine i get no response from the program.

To fully re-install a driver, use the following steps. Your drivers will be under Sound, video and game controllers.

1. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
2. Click Start Menu
3. Right Click My Computer/Computer
4. Click Manage
5. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
6. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
7. Right click the device
8. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
9. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
10. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
11. Install the latest driver for the device.

Alternatively:

1. Login as an adminstrative user.
2. First, download the latest driver. Then do the next steps.
3. Click Start Menu
4. Click Control Panel
5. Click Hardware and Sound
6. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
7. Find the device you are trying to uninstall by expanding the appropriate set of devices
8. Right click the device
9. Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
10. Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
11. Restart your computer only if Windows asks you to.
12. Install the latest driver for the device.
