Solved BSOD Playing LoL? Unsure why...

Hi, (sorry for the lengthy post in advance)

Recently, I built my owner computer around 3-4 months ago and yesterday was the first time I encountered a problem. At first I turned on the computer and the resolution screwed up, it was at around 800x600 and upon using Device Manager I found that my graphics card was not being used for some 'digital signing' reason. I began to uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them in which it worked successfully. I thought nothing of it until I began to play LoL. Around 10-20 minutes into the game my computer had a BSOD. I'm unsure as to why as it's been working perfectly until now.

Image from BlueScreenView: Imgur

After this I have updated all my drivers as recommended by other people. The only thing I have not updated is my MOBO as I am unsure whether to or not and I keep receiving the message:

"The version of this file is not compatible with this version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32 bit) or x64 (64 bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher"

Any help is appreciated :). Attached is the report generated by the program. Thank you!

Hello, LingKing and welcome to the Forums. I will try to help you with this. You only have 2 dump files and they are a Month apart.

Code:
BAD_POOL_HEADER (19)
The pool is already corrupt at the time of the current request.
This may or may not be due to the caller.
The internal pool links must be walked to figure out a possible cause of
the problem, and then special pool applied to the suspect tags or the driver
verifier to a suspect driver.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000003, the pool freelist is corrupt.
Arg2: fffff8a019913820, the pool entry being checked.
Arg3: fffff8a019913820, the read back flink freelist value (should be the same as 2).
Arg4: ff7ff8a019913820, the read back blink freelist value (should be the same as 2).

and

Code:
[COLOR=red]IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)[/COLOR]
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa7fffffffe0, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000001, bitfield :
 bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: fffff800032ea0e0, address which referenced memory

If you have any of the Gigabyte Utilities installed, Please uninstall all of them.

Please reinstall your Graphics driver. Please do it according to the link I am going to give you. Please install nothing except the Graphics Driver and PhysX driver. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html

If you are overclocking anything, please set everything to defaults.

Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

When you built the computer, did you do a clean install? Did you install drivers from the driver disk or did you download them from the Gigabyte web site for your board?

Can you provide any other information that could help narrow it down, such as a particular activity or program you are using when the BSOD occurs?

Also, make sure your Windows Updates are current and, look at the Update History and see how many updates failed to install. Then go by the KB number and see if they successfully installed at a later date.

Please update your system specs as much as possible. Make sure your PSU, CPU cooler and hard drives are listed along with the Manufacturer and model for each component. Please list your CPU also. These are the instructions I usually give, there may be something in here that will help you.

Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/180324-system-info-see-your-system-specs.html

After this, see if your experience is any better or not and the results of the tests.

Have been playing LoL for past 2-3 hours and seems to be no problem but I will do the things listed. I previously used 'Driver Booster' to update my drivers and for now... seems fixed. When I talk about the BSOD I am referring to the latest dump file sorry about that.

I have no Gigabyte Utilities.

Will uninstall and reinstall drivers according to link you gave me.

I am not overclocking anything.

When I built the computer I had a clean install, after installing the drivers I then updated them via the programs or website.

The BSOD occurred when I played LoL... That is the only reason I can think of..

Windows is up to date and I have updated my system specs..

Thanks for replying :) will let you know how it goes

You should never use software to update software. Very unreliable, plus you don't know where the drivers are coming from. I have dealt with numerous people here about BSODs playing LoL. I don't doubt there is something wrong with the coding of the game. Just Google BSOD playing LoL https://www.google.com/search?site=...edr...0...1c.1.64.hp..1.16.1879.0.LWe7ah4L-BI You are not alone. Reported "fixes" are numerous, Most do not work and are a good way to mess up your computer. I would recommend you not try them, or at least come here and ask first. But, just work with us and we'll see if we can get you straightened out.

Um.. Following the NVIDIA Guide I am unable to find the display drivers folder...

If you could explain it would be greatly appreciated because to me.. It makes no sense :p.

"Next go to your "C" dive and there should be a folder named Nvidia."

There is no Nvidia folder and I am unable to find a 'Display Drivers' folder.

"If you have an Nvidia chipset, DO NOT uninstall the chipset driver only the Display drivers. Also, uninstall all of the display type drivers but BE SURE TO UNINSTALL THE GRAPHICS DRIVER LAST."

I don't understand... Don't we all have a chipset?? Really confused.. How do I know if I have a chipset and which one is the chipset driver... Do I uninstall every driver though?

Apart from that I am able to understand the rest..

Some good news though. Upon doing the sfc /scannow there were no integrity violations :)! Not sure what that means though eheh..

We all have a chipset, but we all do not have an Nvidia chipset. You have an Intel Chipset. Uninstall all of the Nvidia drivers, but be sure to uninstall the Nvidia Graphics drivers last. Then reboot and install the drivers. Make sure to choose custom install, uncheck everything except the Graphics driver and the PhysX, and be certain the clean install box is checked.

I did what you told me to do with the NVIDIA Drivers. Just a quick question. Am I supposed to not have the 3D Drivers and HD Audio Driver installed?

Yesterday I had no problems whatsoever, I found it unusual.. I was able to play LoL 5-6 hours with no problems.

Right. That's why I told you to install the Graphics driver and PhysX only. I don't see a reason you would need the 3D drivers, that I can see, you have HD Audio and HDMI drivers in your Motherboard drivers. The streaming video drivers and a couple of other things in GeForce Experience can cause problems also.Installing the Nvidia ones too would only increase the chance of driver conflicts.

Hello, LingKing. You made it quite a while without a BSOD. This is what your dump file says.

Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
BugCheck A, {10, 2, 1, fffff800032e7cb0}
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for avgldx64.sys
[COLOR=red]*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for avgldx64.sys[/COLOR]
Probably caused by : avgldx64.sys ( avgldx64+2990d )
Followup: MachineOwner

That is your AVG AVI Loader Driver. I would uninstall it and use this https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en_US&urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG After that Install
Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows)

Also listed was

Code:
fffff880`009a7670 fffff880`01093828Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\iaStorA.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for iaStorA.sys
[COLOR=red]*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for iaStorA.sys

That is the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST). Uninstall that also and see how you get along.

Have done everything you told me to do except uninstalling IRST. Everything seems to be going good. Must have been conflict with AVG? Been a week and everything is running smoothly. Computer startup is noticeably quicker now too.

Yet another blue screen.. Again upon startup. I installed MSE like you told me to but did not uninstall IRST as I looked it up and it appears to assist the computer speed??

Now it seems to always occur upon startup not sure why..

First BSOD in 2 weeks so.. Is this a normal thing to happen or??

Last two BSOD's seems to be because of ntoskrnl.exe not sure if that's any help.

Please Run Memtest86+
picture.php

   Information
Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 consecutive passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

So are you saying the problem is my ram.. I find that quite unusual as I just built my computer 4-5 months ago.. Relatively new.

I'm telling you what the dump file said. But, new has little to do with it. Sometimes ram can be bad when it is first installed.

You have an illegal Operating System. Your Product key is an OEM_SLP key for an Asus computer and you have it installed on a Retail Gigabyte Motherboard. That key is only valid on the computer it shipped on from the Asus Factory.

My best advice is to install a legal Operating System. When you do that I suspect your problems will be minimized and reading dump files will be more reliable. Once you do that, if you have problems, we will be happy to help you.

Haven't had the time to run memtest but I ran Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool and it came up with no errors.. Is that good enough or would you suggest running memtest too?
