BSOD Please help me to read my dump files

ttran, I've noticed that some drivers show an old date, but were updated a long time ago. The driver I uploaded is actually fairly new and could not have existed 4 years ago as it is a Windows 7 driver. Not sure what causes it, but it is what it is.

Vietnam, I missed before where you said you had a Dell. This makes me more sure than ever that you had the 32-bit version of the driver installed. For some reason the driver package for the Ricoh memory card reader downloaded from Dell does not contain the 64-bit driver despite claiming that it does.

Override it. Trust me, it solved my problem completely. I got the idea from another forum where others reported it working for them as well.

Thanks for the advise, It is appreciated

Hey Quang Anh, make sure to update the drive date from 2006 that I mentioned, driver that about 4 years old is not good in window 7.
I have seen Avast causing BSODs (not a lot but some). I wonder If you are willing to try Microsoft Security Essential for testing purpose (It is BSOD free). Here is the link:
http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
Make sure to uninstall Avast before installing MSE:
avast! Uninstall Utility

Memtestx86 usually take quite long to finish even 1 pass, I would recommend to let it run over night (mine take about 24 hours). If there are any error, you will see red line appear on screen, otherwise your ram is ok
Memory Diagnostics <---Instruction in detail & link to download memtest86
Hope it's help

Tuấn

Hi Tuan,

1. I removed Avast as the instruction below :

Download aswClear5.exe on your desktop
Start Windows in Safe Mode
Open (execute) the uninstall utility
If you installed avast! in a different folder than the default, browse for it. (Note: Be careful! The content of any folder you choose will be deleted!)
Click REMOVE
Restart your computer

2. Installed the new antivirus - Microsoft Security Essential

3. I've checked my Broadcom NDIS driver, it runs really the final version driver.

4. Ok ... i'll try again with Memtest.

Cam on Tuan nhieu nhe.

Quang Anh này,

For the broadcom driver, Can you find the driver from your laptop manufacture's website??. If it's not available or the website said that the driver goes with original window 7, one simple trick you can try to update it is to right click on it in the device manager and choose uninstall-->restart your machine, window will automatically reinstall the driver and hopefully will get the better one. Don't use the option automatically update from the device manager , most of time it will tell you you have most up to date driver ;)

Có gì ko hiểu cứ hỏi mình nhé

I personally think all your drivers should be fine now. I see you haven't reported a BSOD in a while. Lets see if we can't get one to happen. Run the programs you normally use, more than one at a time would be best. Try using each of the different devices on your computer (card reader, webcam, stuff like that). Report back in 24 hours or when the next BSOD happens. That should give use a good indication of if you have found a fix already or not.

Hi Quang Anh

This is not necessary Ram failure, but it can be compatibility between 2 stick of Ram as well or it can be that one of your motherboard slots is bad (possible).
To test that, please test individual stick of Ram to choose a good one with 100% pass, then test that one on both of your slot. This will take a lot of time to do, but after that you will know exactly what is final decision u make with your machine.

I hope it's help, I'm sad too to know the result, it's no fun at all:(

I'm not really good at hardware stuff, but if Ram is ok, it will pass every test without single error. I believe that error here just mean the test is fail at some point and we have to take step by step as I suggested earlier. By testing individual Ram stick and choose a good one, we can test the slots.

Based on past experience I believe one stick is bad. Test each stick in each slot one at a time. Hopefully it is the RAM and not a slot. If the test fails with the same stick, no matter what slot its in, its the RAM. If the test fails with both sticks, but only when in a particular slot, the slot is bad.

If it is a RAM stick, I recommend the replacement be the same speed as the good stick. Some times using two different speed sticks can cause instability, i.e. BSODs.

Hi Tuan, Hi Petey7

I've gone to "Laptop services" (in VietNam so easy to find it, there's one near my house) to clean my 2 sticks Ram, and change their position, i.e. before ddr 2 bus 800 is the back of laptop and now it's a ddr 2 bus 667.
As your instruction, i'll run Memtest86.v4 to test each stick in each slot. I will post the result as soon as possible.

Thank you all.

hey Quang Anh

Somehow I can see that you downgrade this drivers:
Code:

explorer was crashed at the time the computer woke up from hibernation, I would recommend you to run a disk check and system file check again:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Driver date from 2006 is usually not very stable to run, please update them to newest one

Hi Quang Anh,
It is your Ricoh memory card reader drivers. It was mentioned very earlier of this thread that you have this driver from 2007, I told you to update them but now it is even older (2006), please update the drivers Quang Anh, to the most of date drivers.
Another driver that I haven't seen you update:
Code:
b44amd64 b44amd64.sys Tue Nov 21 19:23:06 2006 (4562EFAA)
It is from Broadcom NDIS driver, please update it know, driver from 2006 is not running stable on window 7.
Broadcom.com - Downloads & Support

Also, please tell me the result from system file check, if it keep saying that finding error but unable to fix, you might want to do a whole system repair or clean install Quang Anh
If you have time, do this as well:
Run a Hardware Diagnostics Hardware Diagnostic !! « Captain Debugger

Best,

Tuan

Hi Tuan,

1.I bought a new DDR2 2gb - bus 800 for replacing one old tick with bus 677. YEah, this's the first time i've passed 7 times without errors dectected with Memtest86+. (over 9 hours to test)
I hope my BSOD caused by memory.

2.i've updated Ricoh memory card reader drivers. It's OK now.
Another driver, Broadcom NDIS driver, i can't update it. It shows always
"The best driver software for your device is already installed" or "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date".
I went to Broadcom.com page - Downloads & Support, download and installed the lastest version, but nothing is updated.

3. Oh, yessss...The result from system file check, if it keep saying that finding error but unable to fix.
I've a disc named HIRRENT BOOT, i've run 2 or 3 Hard dics's programs (Samsung, seagate...) to fix it. No errors dectected when i use theses programs but when i goto cmd and run sfc /scannow, it says always that finding error but enable to fix. How can i resolve it ?

Many thanks to you, TUAN.
