So recently I've been getting a lot of BSODs, It seems it all started when I added a dedicated graphics card to replace my onboard, which was fine, just not capable of doing what I needed it to.

As the title says, I've gotten HTTP.sys, mbam.sys and ntfs.sys, and these are ones that actually show the specifics.

STOP: 0x0000003B
STOP: 0x000000F4
STOP: 0x00000024
STOP: 0x0000007E

These are other's I receive that don't always show the specifics.

I've tested my HDD, PSU seems fine, I've tested my RAM slots, and one stick of Ram(out of 4)

After a while I got tired of all the errors, and basically reinstalled Windows. Everything goes fine the first couple of days, then boom, random BSOD.

BSOD occurs mostly when coming back to the computer from it being idle, it has crashed one time while playing Minecraft, and once immediately after attempting to log in at the log on screen.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Andrew

You said that you tasted the HDD, do it once again.

  1. Reseat the sata and power.
  2. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
  3. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.
Let us know the results.

After reseating the power and sata, not sure if relevant, but the computer froze at the bios splash, after about 7 min, I restarted and all went well. About to run the two above tests and will report back when I have the results, Thanks again

Ran all the tests, came back with nothing out of the ordinary. Went to school this morning at about 9am come back at 11ish and I get a BSOD again. I'll attach this one here as well. Had Chrome up with some tabs open. And Utorrent trying to get a LiveCD as someone suggested elsewhere. Which has also been acting weird lately, slow speeds, etc. After booting back up from the BSOD, my keyboard and mouse (Wireless USB) also werent working initially, took a few minutes and it was working again.

Let us see what Carrona.org says ....
To resolve a disk corruption problem: Check Event Viewer for error messages from SCSI and FASTFAT (System Log) or Autochk (Application Log) that might help pinpoint the device or driver that is causing the error. Try disabling any virus scanners, backup programs, or disk defragmenter tools that continually monitor the system. You should also run hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer. For details on these procedures, see the owner's manual for your computer. Run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and resolve any file system structural corruption. You must restart the system before the disk scan begins on a system partition.

From what I gather, which isn't much mind you, most of the errors have to do with something pertaining to the kernel. I've zipped both Application and System Log for evaluation and possibly explanation. Now as far as disabling monitoring software, AV, etc. I've disabled it all, except MSE. And have all start-up items disabled through MSconfig. Being I've already ran both /r /f and Seatools, and WesternDigital(previously) disk tools, is there anything else recommended? Also, this was a built computer, so I don't necessarily have manufacturer disks/literature.

Thanks again.

Those are nothing very serious, Andrew. And, When you "Grab All" in SF Diag Tool, we get the event logs, too.

Want to know what are the failures there?

  • Driver update failure, that you tried with a third party app, driver max.
  • Download failure, as you tried to download itunes from Softonic ()
  • Network failure due to Torrent
  • 10 years old program (office 2003) failure on desktop
Etc. this and that. Those are nothing that serious that you are thinking. And it showed the evidence of an incomplete repair install, too. That user files you use till now.

Your problem is with your disc management. It may be anywhere. From The BIOS's controller to the NTFS File System. Go take a deep breath and try to fix it. Almost all the information I have supplied there.

EDIT: If you uninstall Advanced System Care and Smart Defrag, and then run a SFC/ Scannow, that may be a starting step for good.

Uninstalled those programs as advised, and running the SFC scan now.

"From The BIOS's controller to the NTFS File System. "

Does the SFC command check all of this as well?

?
No, it just checks the system files, if there is any integrity violation or not.
