BSOD randomly STOP: 0x0000003B & STOP: 0X00000024

Hello i have had 2 BSOD's or more recently. I dont know why, i only saw 2 of them, but ive had around 3 - 4, the other 1 - 2 were seen by family members but they just turned the pc off and back on...

anyhow here are some pictures

Windows 7 . . . x64 the original installed OS on the system? What is the age of system (hardware)? = 2 - 3 months old, its a new build What is the age of OS installation = 2 - 3 months old (have you re-installed the OS ?= 2-3 months
old, i installed as soon as i built my pc)
anyways i would like some help please



oh and one more thing, i also thought it might have been the hard drive, so i ran windows disk error thing. I also thought it might be driver related issues so i updated my AMD 6770 drivers, apparantly there was an update, not according to windows but according to the actual website... weird huh? but im not sure whether it updated drivers or just installed ati catalyst...

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.


1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

2-Driver verifier

I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Also I don't know if I can run for 36 hours I mean electricity is expensive and I'm not rich at all but hopefully it doesn't come to that. I also herd you can get stuck after using the driver tool in bsod or something. Btw I also in collage and running for 36 hours will be hard as there is homework

Well i did a malwarebyte test, full scan on both of my hard drives, nothing came up. Should i do a antivirus scan as well with MSE or is that a waste of time (full scan with MSE takes a while :/) Should i do a memtest86+ test or not?

and are you sure the driver thing is save? should i do it?

If errors are there whether it be 1 or 30 or a 1000 that ram has to be replaced for a computer to ever be stable it has to be perfect..in order to find out which ram is the faulty one you have to do as zigzag has stated in his post.

Are you sure RAM is causing the bsod but I have already replaced the RAM with good quality corsair and also don't all tad have errors isn't it hard to find a error free RAM

If you have tested the new ram and you got an error that is the cause of the BSOD ram should not have errors period. And I have tested my wifes computer and mine and it's perfect they are both Kingston brand. I have never had bad ram but it does occur quite frequently and is the most major cause of BSOD's..

Hi Otherguy, sry I was away picking up my daughter from school, but if it were me I would do exactly that. Get it replaced and I wouldn't pay the shipping that wouldn't be fair. I hate to have to be the one to tell you all that about the ram but unfortunately that's just the way it is..
