Hello Everyone,

I am working with a windows 7 64 bit custom build, The last time we had a debug read they found out that the Autodesk appliation called Revit.exe was the cause of the crash. I have a open case with Autodesk Software vendor. The version of this software is supposedly 64 bit compatible, some of the reports that I received from the debugs indicate the the revit.exe application if the cause of the crash that occurs only when closing the application, right before a full pc shutdown. I am including the minidump files that I ran on the pc earlier today.

The dmp(s) point to ntkrpamp.exe or ntoskrnl.exe as the probable cause. We know this is not the case, as these are core OS files, and will definitely not cause a BSOD. They are just the default files the debuggers blame when they can't see a better cause. Enable driver verifier using the following procedures ...

- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Hi

The User experiences random blue screens with no pattern. We ran the BSOD analysis tool on 9/4 and would like to see if you can assist in identifying the cause for these crashes. the last incident was dated on the 4th of November, and a few going back to 8/17/2011.

This is a IBM T410 product series T25184JU with 4GB of RAM,
Windows 7 64 bit,
Novell Client 2 for Windows 7.

I will include the results for the analysis tool in this post.

Thanks,
