Hi, Im new to this forum and this whole bsod thing so dont judge me if I post something bad
About the problem.I started getting Stop Error 0x00000116 about a month ago.I tried fixing it myself I did fix it for about a week using this method:
Step 1: Download and install the latest ati graphic driver.
Step 2: Then go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and rename atikmdag.sys to atikmdag.sys.old.
Step 3: Go to ati directory (usually in C:\ATI) and find the file atikmdag.sy_.
Step 4: Copy the file to your Desktop directory.
Step 5: Open cmd.exe by going to Start -> type cmd in the search box and hit enter.
Step 6: Change the directory to Desktop by typing chdir Desktop.
Step 7: Then, type EXPAND.EXE atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys. Or,
expand -r atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys
Step 8: When the expansion is complete, copy the new atikmdag.sys from your Desktop to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
Step 9: Restart your computer and the problem should be resolved.
After it stoped working for me I tried this and it also helped for some time:
Open regedit then -
Navigate to -
H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Graphics Drivers.
Right click on the open field and click on New / DWORD (32bit) Value,
Then name it: TdrDelay -> double click it -> Set the value to 8.
Usually this error occurs on startup.Im writing this from safe mode.I think drivers are bad or video card needs replacement. If I delete drivers laptop works in normal mode to.I tried uninstalling/installing new drivers but it doesnt seem to help.More info in the attachment.Hope I did it alright
