Ok Sam still coming up that graphics driver issue. Now I can see you or someone built this machine so what was the media the OS was loaded from a disk, download or what because something is not ringing the right bells here.
Was the media direct from Microsoft in the form of an OEM or retail version disk or did you get it from say for example an EBay seller? I don't want to sound rude but like I said something isn't quite right as removing that CCC should have settled the problem.

I meant to mention - sorry but in that machine components list there are some problem devices - see pic these are the drivers for the uSB's https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/H81IPLUS/HelpDesk_Download/ now to know which type are installed use PART B: of that ditty of mine

Using HW Info
PART A:
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info
HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download < download the right bit version and close the right handwindow select Sensors and scroll down to the power section where you will seewhat the volts are doing see my pic. Now the section you want will be labeled -for example Asus boards usually have "Nuvoton" and Gigabyte boards"ITE" in any case the section you want will have Vbatt or VBAT in it(dead give away)
The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for thatbut for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main lefthand side panel
FOR OTHER COMPONENTS
PART B:
Open each small square with + in it on the section the components are in andthen click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in theright hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds andother essential info that particular device. See pic for example.

I got my windows from an online seller, would it be best to buy a version direct from microsoft?

in HWiNFO, following the same path as your image, both things under the USB tab are "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" I will Try installing one of the USB drivers and get back to you.

After installing the new driver, along with the two options already available, there is a third, "ASMedia XHCI 1.0 Controller." but the third doesn't have any of my devices.

Sam I do not feel right with this one as it has been too convoluted for my liking. Now I think we should first or you should get this copy validated and I am looking for the tutorial that tells me how to do that - I have used it myself to validate my stuff just out of curiosity that is.

I will get back to you.

Hello Sam mate try running this and see what comes back - now you might need to try running it a couple of times because I am guessing their servers are fairly heavily used.
Just follow the prompts it only takes a few seconds once it is going Genuine Microsoft Software let us know what the result is.

No such thing.

You have an OEM license on a retail board,

Code:
Product ID: 00371-OEM-8992671-00501
Original Install Date: 1/08/2015, 11:08:00 AM
System Boot Time: 31/08/2015, 11:51:43 AM
System Manufacturer: ASUS
System Model: All Series
System Type: x64-based PC

That can only be done with an activation hack.

Please perform the following:

1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

2. Run the tool, and then click Copy - ignore any errors if they appear

3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the tool here in your next reply.

Ok mate now do you know where you can get copies of 7 from now ? because there are some sources available in Oz but they are getting scarce and more expensive. I stocked up some time ago on a few copies and even made some ISO copies from the download site when it was available too. That was before Microsoft in their cynical wisdom took that source away:sarc:

Just some sites I use are these Microsoft GFC-02733 Windows 7 | Shopping Express Australia Online and Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with SP1 OEM [GFC-02733] - $149.00 : PC Case Gear and Windows 7 Professional OEM 64BIT Service Pack 1 | Centre Com : Best PC Hardware Prices! but you can see the Sydney site is the cheapest.
Whatever you do don't do it online unless you can guarantee the source ie EBay big no no

OK Sam have got that mate the problem is another common one that can beanything - have marked it in red in the bug analyse. It does come up asgraphics fault though the .sys marked is a DirectX issue but like I said it canbe anything from an update to a hardware fault.

I think we might go with the fix mentioned in a previous post to start withand that is to uninstall the CCC and use just to driver for that card. Problem is I cannot find a driver just for that card it only comes with the CCC:( SAPPHIRE Technology

Hi, I'm back from my holiday. I don't fully understand what you're asking me to do. I've followed your link and I've uninstalled my driver and I'm installing the one I found through your link now.
My motherboard has on-board graphics, can that be used to narrow down the problem at all?

Just installed that driver and the problem seems to be fixed. Thank you very much for the help. Until further notice I will be marking this thread as solved.

Sorry late reply well alls well that ends that way eh? I think the reinstall of the driver has done it - typically when you plug in a GPU the onboard graphics is cut out or disconnected for want of a better term.

Anyway it is going that is the main thing as that dxgkrnl.sys is one of a number of dump files that has to be chased down it can be anything from an update (usually listed as that) to any component especially if the component is one dealing either graphics in that case it is the DirectX system.
