Solved BSOD Video related I believe

The memory test ran for longer than before and had 0 errors. I ran an advanced drive fitness test and it finished successfully with 0x00.

The new minidump points to mse but i dont believe that is the bsod cause.

Though uninstall mse.

Update chipset.

Update bios,(use the usb pen drive method is more safe)

Set bios to auto.

Download,install,update,scan with the free SUPERAntiSpyware

Download,install,update,scan with the free Malwarebytes

If during the above scans the pc fail/crash/bsod,boot in safe mode and run the scan again in safe mode.

I can't get my computer to start up at the moment. I was on it, and firefox was opening with my saved tabs and firefox froze and my computer screen went black. It started revving up then restarted itself. It started up and I was logged on and it did it again. After that it wouldn't start up at all, the screen stayed black, and the computer was revving.

Hopefully it will start up later, though I do not know how to update chipset or bios but I'm sure I can google it if it's not that difficult.

I am still not on that computer, but I read a bit about updating the BIOS and I'm not confident doing that without detailed instructions.

I even tried in safe mode, and it either freezes or I get the same blue screen error about Ntfs.sys.

Try resetting your BIOS to default/safe/optimized values and see if that helps.

I read my motherboard user's manual, and went into BIOS and loaded optimized defaults. I still got a blue screen, and it also froze in BIOS once after that, and on my first start up screen that shows the motherboard logo.

Edit: I also tried to load fail-safe defaults and tried to start in safe mode, but it still freezes or blue screens with the same error.

This seeems like a motherboard defect or a RAM/CPU problem
What were the results of Memtest?

If you have your Windows 7 DVD you could repair any startup problems

I go to boot from the CD, it loads the files and goes to the starting windows screen, then it blue screens.


On a side note: I have my computer backed up already, and my manufacturer warranty will replace parts for another half a year.

Something is wrong with your hardware,is a good idea to use warranty RMA.

Alright, I figured I would need to replace something at this point. Is there any other part I should get replaced that could be causing it? Or should I just start with hard drive only and see what happens.

You had memory corruption error,hard disk error,graphic card error....

I dont believe that all your hardware are faulty.

That probably points to motherboard,if motherboard is damaged then everything on it will malfunction.


If you want to try the easy way then,if you have any other hard disk try with that.

If ur motherboard have onboard graphic use that.

(Try to use other hardware).

But again i dont recommended it,is better idea to use warranty and RMA.

I got my computer back from the manufacturer and I've been using it for almost a week and it's great. They had to replace both the motherboard and hard drive, and reinstalled the os. I hope I don't have the same issue in 6 months :S not sure what would have caused both to fail.
