I built this computer 3 and a half years ago, see profile specs or CPUZ screen attached, and it came together fine except I didn't know about buying ram to fit the CPU as well as the board, but the board has been down clocking the ram so I think I'm good there.

About a year ago I got a BSOD, nothing broke so I kept going. Then about 9 months ago I got another and as time went on I got more. I spent a lot of time looking up solutions online and doing registry cleaners and updating drivers. It went away until recently when they came back with a vengeance. I find they happen when I'm watching videos online or playing MMOs.

I got sick of it all and decided to get a new drive, fresh OS install, and update the mobo bios to most recent. Once I did that I noticed some of the devices didn't have drivers which I never bothered with before since they weren't anything but this time I went online and updated them all. As far as I can tell I have everything up to date driver wise. I also ran memtest for about 12 hours with no errors just to check everything.

The errors I got in the past were of various types but this first one on the fresh everything is IRQL. My concern is that its the ram, but with the downclocking and memtest maybe it is all fine. I also worry it is the mobo as in my research I've found numerous complaints about the board, but since mine was fine for nearly 3 years I wasn't sure that was it. Though with a 33% of newegg reviews at 1 egg I may be wrong.

Basically I'm not sure what else to do. I can buy new hardware that isn't a problem I would just prefer not to since most of this is only 3.5 years old. Powersupply is 8 but it still pumps out juice and it has enough watts for the rig so that doesn't seem needed. I've attached a bunch of information I've seen asked for on other threads, but if you guys need more I'll do whatever you need.

One thing I hope showed up in that zip file your program made was that after getting my new OS up and running on the new drive I turned on the Driver Verifier I've heard about. Hopefully that showed up or adds something to the reporting. If it does add something but wasn't captured by the program just tell me how to get the info from it and I'll post it.

I had an old PCI card for wireless in the rig that I'm no longer using and even though it is disabled in the Device Manager I decided to uninstall it and pull it from the rig just in case. Maybe it'll help since my issues are online.

I also see requests for people to run the sfc /scannow in admin mode so I kicked that on this morning and ran it three times. Each time it reported no integrity violations. I've attached the txt report if needed, looks like I also ran it the day I got the new system together.

I went through my Device Manager and told the hardware I could read in english and know what it was for hardware to update its driver. The only one that actually found an update was my wifi usb card, so maybe that'll help since it was an internet related bsod.

My system was up to date but just in case I ran windows update and found a couple new items so I installed those just in case.

I wanted to use a driver sweeper of some kind to identify drivers that are no longer being used by my hardware so I could delete them. I did notice one suggested on a thread that I can't find again but I do remember it didn't exist anymore and the link for it pointed to the new owners Treexy Driver Fusion. Is this good? Or do you guys have a good driver sweeper? Slash should I bother running one is it worth it?

Don't know if it matters for any future replies from someone but I swapped my computer into a new case a few days ago, everything is back up and running normally. After I confirmed it was all good I replaced my old gtx 670 nvidia card with a new gtx 980 ti hybrid cooler card and installed the latest graphics drivers with a clean install. New driver only came out in the last few days or so so probably didn't solve my problem.

Also, still wondering about a good driver sweeper program mentioned in my last post.

I got another BSOD last night. I had just finished up playing some games and my computer was running a bit warm so I shut off everything to bring it back to the desktop and left it on the desktop with only HWMonitor running before putting it to sleep while I ran to the other room. When I came back it was restarting. Checked to the dump folder and confirmed that's what it was. Also found another file from Sunday which explains what happened Sunday.

Could this be a heat related bsod? The RAM I'm using is 2400 instead of the 1600 my CPU wants but it is downclocking it, but maybe it isn't or it gets crazy with speeds when hot? Maybe the CPU doesn't like getting to 60c?

Got a BSOD error code 1e right before I was going to start my online final exam for a night class I'm in. Hoping to get some help on this when you guys get some time.

Thank you for the reply Layback Bear, but I believe I followed all those instructions completely. I've got the required .zip file made by using that program on my first post. (Really my second post as I double posted it so I deleted the first one. Past that I've also either added more files and/or results in each of my subsequent posts as I found the information I posted had been requested in other threads and posts in this forum or I've added additional information that I thought might be relevant. Do you think there is some other report or program I could run that would help the folks on the forum help me?

I've kind of burned out all my computer knowledge leading up to this point so I'm not sure what else I can add beyond what I've already posted and I haven't had much luck in trying to teach myself about interpreting BSODs in the last year or so that this has been going on. I've read this forum and others like it numerous times in the last year but I've been unable to solve it on my own which was why I finally decided to post my problem. Any help or suggestion of next steps would be most appreciated.

As you have multiple BSODs in the meantime we require that you upload a new zip.

The Intel chipset drivers cause all the BSODs that are present in the zip, 2 BSODs never recorded a minidump and the memory.dmp would've been overwritten already.
Check if Intel has driver updates, if there are no driver updates try following:

Remove Intel Rapid Storage Technology applications.
1. Uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2. Uninstall the driver from device manager:
- Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
- In the "Computer Management" window that opens:
- Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices.
- Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
- Select one Intel device item under it, right click, then uninstall.
- Repeat the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
3. Now restart the computer.
4. Once booted, Windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.

I tried to update drivers with no success. So I uninstalled Intel Rapid Storage Technology from the programs list, however, I don't have a section for IDE ATA/ATAPI in my device manager. Here is most of my device manager, maybe it is one of the others?

EDIT: Google tells me it is the IntelR SATA AHCI Controller under Storage Controllers, which makes sense so I'm going to uninstall that. Lots of websites report that it has errors for lots of people.

EDIT2: I unistalled the driver for that controller and rebooted, but it still shows the same driver edition and the drivers iaStorA, V, and F are all still listed under the drivers report. But Rapid Storage is gone so maybe I'm good and should just try to get a bsod to confirm? It seems Windows can't find an update to that controller but is this an update for it? Don't believe them, there are many problems for many users. If you don't have a problem with it, leave it.

A reboot is usually required for the uninstallation IME, after a reboot the drivers are installed again by Windows. Usually the same drivers are installed, but it helps because of corruption or something.

If you checked device manager, correct. Device manager never finds a driver...
