Solved BSOD when playing games

Hello,
I've been having some issues with crashes while playing games. I play a large range of games(League, Overwatch), and it seems to occur at random, crashing at any point during gameplay. I have checked my GPU drivers, and updated to the latest drivers for my 7970 (16.7.2) but the issue persists.

Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: this has occured about 5 times in the last week

Hello and welcome Zhaix mate at first glance seems to be a problem with the graphics drivers

Probably caused by : [COLOR="Red"]atikmpag.sys[/COLOR] ( atikmpag+ec74 )

One usual suggestion is to remove the Catalyst Control Centre and just run the GPU graphics driver

Thanks for the replies. I tried what Derek said, but this came up (http://puu.sh/q9sT3/ad370f5101.png) which leads me to believe that nothing has changed. Do I need to uninstall my drivers first before installing without catalyst control centre?

Well I don't know what to do next mate as the methods in that tutorial use the Windows feature - unless I am terribly mistaken - I am not a great fan of the Windows feature the Part one I have never used and inpart two that is the method that I have always found a tad lacking..

Perhaps Derek if he is following this thread may be better at advising you on just what to do,

Personally I would go for the site link and also I really am not a fan of AMD either I went over to NVidia at the advice of another member a long time ago and have never had a problem - but having said that it is your budget.

Uninstalling your old ones first will help, downloading the drivers you want ahead of time is key also, you don't use windows search for drivers you just point it to the ones you downloaded and unpacked.

Pay attention to the tip in the yellow box too.

I guess you are not understanding how that works, the only windows feature is looking for drivers you point them to, not really sure what you find lacking in manually pointing to a driver you want installed.

That screen he got could also be shown if the current driver is suitable, thereby you would need to uninstall your old one first.

The part in the yellow tip box is important too to keep windows from installing a driver you don't want after a reboot from uninstalling the old one.

Well perhaps I have misunderstood Derek a the many times I have used that feature it has told me the driver is up to date yet updating from a manufacturer has nearly always solved the problem.

You seem to be missing the fact that the method in that tutorial is for drivers you have already downloaded from the manufacturer (Part One, number 1)

not using the search automatically part which will almost always give you that response. You are just separating the driver from the install manager and manually pointing to the driver you separated.

I pointed out why he got that message, windows feels the driver that's installed is good enough, in that case you would need to uninstall the previous driver.

It's pretty straight forward if you read the steps.
