Hello!

Just got a random BSOD when i was waking up my laptop (opening it basically).
This is the first time it happened... but i don't like blue screens :)
so, could someone take a look as to what could have caused it?

Thank you!

PS: i created another post recently in the crash forum section, and the
two posts are unrelated (not the same computer)!

Welcome
It is very difficult to diagnose a blue screen based upon one report. Your report points to a driver, which is often caused by a bad hard drive. Why not take the hard drive test and then report any new BSODS that you recieve. It would be unpleasant for you to have to take a multitiude of tests while we guess.
Test Hard Drive
Hard drive scan usings SeaTools - SeaTools for Windows | Seagate - Both long and short tests

Ok! Thanks. I'll do that, and report back, once the HD test is done.
btw, my device manager says that i have a WDC WD6400BPVT-75HXZT3 ATA Device,
which i think is a 'Wester Digital'.
So, will the SeaGate test tool work properly?

That test is suppose to work on all hard drives.

I got another BSOD after waking up the laptop this morning.
I'll run the HDD scan today.

I have,
two partitions - one HD:
WD-WXR1A81A6566 (partition 1) - SMART test - PASSED
Short Drive self test - PASSED
Short generic - PASSED
Long generic - PASSED

WD-WXR1A81A6566 (partition 2) - SMART test - PASSED
Short Drive self test - PASSED
Short generic - PASSED
Long generic - PASSED

Also a note i didn't go on the 'fix it' which repairs the HD if it finds errors.
The reason for that is the SeaTools says it can only repair SeaGate and Maxtor
Hard disks.

But no errors were found, so i guess i don't need to run the repair ('fix it') tool.

I also installed a Western Digital HD diagnostic tool. Ran the Quick test and it PASSED,
the extended test also PASSED.

I also ran an Avast boot-time full scan, no viruses were found.

So... What now?

PS: my laptop is relatively new btw. 6 months it think.

If the computer is new, may I suggest that you contact the company the you purchased it from. Some companies are very strict, regarding changes made and the Warranty.

Well if they don't allow me to fix my own computer, then i don't care about the warranty.
Still, i'm gonna contact them tomorrow.

In the meantime, what can i do?
Did the dump files point to anything specific? drivers? driver conflicts?

Your bug code is 24
Disk corruption, insufficient physical memory, Device driver, Indexing, Resident antivirus, backup, defrag programs, Disk/Drive failing/failure

The last drive failing was tested.
Lets make a system restore point, so we can go back later if necessary and then:
Replace your anti Virus with Microsoft Security Essentials
Defrag your hard drive
Take memory test:
Run for 8 passes.
Then test each stick in a good slot for 6 passes.
If you have dual channel, the results may be incorrect, if shows pass.

Hey!
I did all that, and it all looks good.
Memtest didn't show errors.

PS: i haven't had BSOD's since that last one.

Well lets hope, then, all that was necessary was for you to reseat the memory sticks.

As I said, I hope. Sometimes the ram sticks are not in tight enough or are dirty. Taking them out and replacing them tightly, can do the trick. If you do get more, just post. But for now, anyway the BODS are gone.
