Hello,

in a last couple of months I constantly get BSOD everytime I try to install utorrent, regardless what version it is. I tried to find an answer on utorrent forums but i did not so I am trying to find it here.
I tried verifier, after verification, it showed that NDIS IM driver aswebr.sys should be verified and when I click on finish, it says "No options changed" and it still remains unverified. It suppose to be a problem with Realtek ethernet drivers but I installed latest using Live Update. Can you help me verify aswebr.sys without having to reinstall whole Windows 7 Ultimate that I have ?

Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1 32bit
Version : 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Model : MSI-7369

Some details in attachments...

edit : I must say that qbittorrent and Tixati works ok, all other software is cool but only ones based on utorrent (like bittorent, leechcraft etc.) do not work. Used antimalware, regcure found no problems. I use Avast as AVP, added exceptions, same problem - exceptions added on Firewall too, same thing BSOD as soon as utorrent (or similar mentioned) starts.

Hello coolactive. Sorry for such a late response.

I want to ask you a few questions.

  • Do you use any third party firewall?
  • Have you tried any other similar program?
  • Have you tried to add any exception for torrent in your firewall ?
First try another similar program, and see if the same thing happens.

coolactive,
Look at the title of your post and then look at:

REMOVAL OF P2P PROGRAMS

There are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

As long as you are using any form of P2P networking to download files, you can anticipate malware infestations.

No prob Arc, thanx mate. Now here it is :
* No, I do not use any 3rd party firewall. I am firewalled by Windows and virus protected by Avast
* I am using qbittorrent with no problem and Tixati also, no problem there. I cannot use u-torrent, bittorrent, leechcraft.... so much I tested
* Ofcourse I tried, utorrent also ask for automatic exception while installing. Nevertheless I checked if it is in the white list in firewall and it is, also port that is using is also free...

I know I have two P2p programs on my system right now :
* qbittorrent
* Tixati
Like I mentioned, I use those two that are working fine - dload and upload with no prob. Problem occurs when i try to install utorrent, bittorrent and later on Vuze -> as soon as I try to open those programs after install I get BSOD like in the 1st post.
Also, I am having AntiMalwareBytes and RegCurePro on my system that scanned all files on deepscan and found only minor things like Keygens and some Incredibar toolbar for IE that I do not even use.... Everything else is doing fine, no other system errors or flaws, just that small NDIS IM driver aswebr.sys that I can't update or verify....
Tried propably everything I read on utorrent forums and allover the web.
*Unchecked IPv6, dismounted it via DOS and netsh commands
*Under "Run.exe" used bcdedit and set nointegity checks off
*Used verifier and tried to verify aswebr.sys, system just cant do it
* Reinstalled completely my Realtek Ethernet card and updated it with new drivers via Live Update
* Flashed my BIOS with latest version, everything works even faster and better then before, just except that little ^&E$%&^$%&^% thing called aswebr.sys

You use, RegCure Pro?

I suggest to uninstall that one at first, but before uninstalling it, you try to restore all registry backups.

I am sure, if you do a clean install, with no registry tweaker programs installed other than ccleaner, you will not see any issue.

A program like RegCurePro may cause a damage to windows 7 system that is beyond repair.

I just installed RegCurePro recently, a week ago and he did not found any problems or caused it beyond CCleaner. Problem I am having is earlier then RegCurePro was on my system, but, I like to listen to more experienced people so I will uninstall it and restore registry backups just to be sure....
It could be maybe that those Windows 7 updates that are happening here and there caused this ? I have Win7 for some time now and just recently, few months ago, problem with utorrent occured....

Best, you restore to a point before it started.

If not worked, start afresh.

RegCure uninstalled, registry restored but unfortunately, same problem occures... :(
Sadly, it looks like I am going to have to format c: in order to install fresh copy of Windows 7 and then be able to use utorrent, bittorrent etc.
But, since all other stuff works perfect, I will take my chances and remain as is. I can reach my seed goals with qbittorrent.

Thanx guys for help, if, by any chance you come up with some new, fresh ideas about fixing NDIS IM and aswebr.sys of Realtek Ethernet, please post it here because now, I am really intrigued about it and would like to know how to fix it....

PS : What would happen if I just erase aswebr.sys from the system, uninstall my ethernet card and then reinstall it again ? ...since aswebr.sys is not a part of Windows system files but it originates from Realtek drivers I suppose ... ???
