Lately my computer has been producing BSOD's while playing games (error 0x000000d1 if i'm not mistaken). I can watch series (both HD and non-HD) for days straight, but when I play a game like Cod4 or Guitar Hero, I usually get a BSOD after about 30-60 minutes. Also, my CPU fan is failing right now, while it did work when I booted up my PC, which probably means it has something to do with my CPU (overheating?). I already switched my GTX 460 graphics card with an old GTX 280 graphics card, but that didnt fix the problem which means it probably isnt my GPU. The Gamecube/wii emulator Dolphin gave me a BSOD after 2 minutes of playing, and as far as I know dolphin is way more intensive than guitar hero or cod 4 because its an emulator. I also converted a 15-20 minute video with a video converter so I could watch it on my phone, which didnt give me a BSOD. Hot CPU tester pro 4 though did give me a BsoD after 30 minutes while running the CPU burn-in tool (running on 1 thread, i couldnt select more threads because i used the lite version instead of the full paid program).

The SF diagnostics tool dumps are inserted as an attachment.

any help would be grateful.

I would definitely say you need to replace that cpu and/or gpu fan(whichever is applicable); because if it only works at certain times; the times that it is not working can cause damage to the processor and or the component(s) that are beneath the cpu socket where the cpu chip is. I believe it is just about a certainty that a failing cpu fan can cause damage to the processor chip due to it being exposed to too much heat. And oh yea; last but not the least; a overheating/overheated cpu can definitely cause the system to crash and/or just shut down entirely at which point i would not only replace the fan; but take the time to blow out any dust etc that has accumulated inside the case; as dust and dirt will act as a blanket and will trap heat in and wont allow the components to breathe easily even with a fan

EDIT: in the post; at the bottom did you mean CPU or GPU?
