BSOD while using utorrent

Hiya,

I know there have been numerous threads on this one, but I couldn't find a solution that fitted my PC config on any - so posting this one.

I have utorrent and while keeping it on, I have a BSOD every 10-15 minutes - sometimes even sooner.

Most threads spoke about Antivirus software causing issues here. I have Quickheal on my PC.

Is that the problem here?

Insights appreciated.

Thanks,
Hemzy

The zip does not contain all the required data. Dont edit anything, upload the zip generated by the tool itself.

Are you sure it is not generating anything else other than the crash dumps?? It generates a lot of files for me, and for everybody else.

I think this one's finally got it all. The collector window would say it's generating a lot of reports but the final ZIP didn't have anything but the dumps. Had to re-run it a few times to get everything in the ZIP now.

All are network failures, but the cause is not explained. It may be anything like a failing network driver, an antivirus working ambitiously, or some other program monitoring networks.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

## Free up the startup. Otherwise Driver Verifier will fail to work. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.

Update: with all start-up items disabled and only utorrent and the antivirus, no BSOD for a long while. My suspicion is that I have disabled one of the culprit drivers/programs with the start-up items.

I have Driver Verifier on. Any thoughts?

Run as normal leaving Driver Verifier on, hopefully you will get another BSOD. If none after 24 hours enable one Start up item at a time, to see if one gets a BSOD.

Arc may have a different method.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Let us know the results.
