BSOD Win 7 32 bit after inactivity

Hi guys- I hope you can help. What you guys are doing here is HEROIC.

In a nutshell: Everything seems fine, but I leave my system up and running and the past couple days when I came home from work, the system acts like it is sleeping, but I've disabled the sleep/low power modes. When I try to wake it, I get the user login screen, but then it reboots (with a brief flicker of BSOD) and comes back with the "Windows has recovered from a serious error" messages.

Anyways- my system was initially built as an XP box about 2 years ago or so, but it had issues with system memory that appeared after several days up. I suspected the RAM- it wasn't listed as 100% compatible with the mobo. A simple reboot would always fix the problem.

Recently I updated the CPU, RAM, and added another HD which is now the primary. I adjusted BIOS settings to accommodate the speeds of the new RAM and CPU.

I clean installed Win 7 Ultimate x32 (full retail) on the new HD. I loaded the graphics driver, checked everything in device manager and everything seemed fine. It ran for a week or so with no issues whatsoever. I went ahead and ran all the Windows updates including SP1, and installed a few programs (Firefox, Thunderbird, some music sequencing software, Adobe) not really a whole lot.

And I'm using the system now- with no issues. It just seems like it freaks out when I leave it sitting for prolonged periods of time. I suspect some sort of hardware conflict, but have exhausted my abilities. I've attached the reports suggested. Can anyone shed some light on what my issues are?

Memory Corruption

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Thanks for the advice- I downloaded Memtest86 and burned it to disk, booted from it and let the tests run. It ran for 45 minutes or so, I think it made 9 passes. But it didn't find any errors. I let it run until it stopped, too.

That's sort of a relief, since both the CPU and RAM are brand new. But it still doesn't fix my problem. Any other ideas?

Memtest tests your ram outside the windows enviornment. It should take many hours for 9 passes. If you continue to get corruption it may be a driver in windows

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

No errors.

OK- I didn't quite get that Memtest would run continuously. I let it run most of the day yesterday (8 total passes) but it still didn't find any errors.

System file checker has been run multiple times now over the past few days, and it has found nothing. "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

This is weird.

If you are still getting the BSOD's please upload the DMP files.

It did crash again- and this time I got to see it happen. I made a mistake- in the theme settings I had set the monitors to never turn off, but under power management the computer was set to sleep after 5 hours. Once it goes to sleep, it BSODs as it tries to wake. Any ideas why?

You have a problem with your motorola phone connection:
For that to work you need:
1)Microsoft .net framework 2.0 ( remember 2.0 no other framework would not do )
2) download ADB directly from the Motorola site and then unzip the file in a new folder with the same name .


You have some older drivers that need to be updated of de-installed, the oldest being:

secdrv.SYS   Wed Sep 13 15:18:32 2006

Secdrv should have been updated through Windows updates...

As for your dumps... as Ken already said... all seem to be memory corruption.
Strangely, if memtest is fine... it is not the memory by itself. It must be a combination...

Is your mobo up-to-date in firmware and BIOS? Do you (now) only have w7 compatible stuff?

What happens if you try to reproduce in Safe Mode?
The last description of BSOD when waking up sounds like a timing issue....
