Hi, I've been a longtime viewer (client?) of this site, and you guys have done a fantastic job fixing some of my issues in the past and I was wondering if you can help me again. My computer crashed today, and when I ran my WhoCrashed software, the following popped up:

[FONT=Segoe UI, Arial]On Thu 8/28/2014 1:42:22 PM GMT your computer crashed

In the last BSOD, it was deemed my Nvidia drivers needed updating so I downloaded the Nvidia GeForce Experience, which currently states my drivers are up to date. The past process could be seen here: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/329750-bsod-while-watching-video-not-porn-2.html

Anyways, I've uploaded my memory dump files here: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=9183E0F542F4D665&id=9183E0F542F4D665!119

Hope you guys can help out! I sincerely appreciate it!

We need minidumps and other necessary files.

Follow it: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

OK, I've done all the steps with the SF Diagnostics tool. Lately, my computer's monitor has actually gone black even though my computer is still on (and it's not because a cable got unplugged) and once the computer restarted (with no minidump file created; this happened 2 days ago) and another time, it completely froze (also about 2 days ago). Anyways, I hope you can help, and I apologize for not following instructions earlier!

Remove it from startup.
Code:
Install LastPass FF RunOnce c:\progra~2\common~1\lpunin~1.exe -q -name=lastpass -ffuuid [email protected] Public Common Startup
And then enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Hi, I've removed the Install LastPass startup and then ran the Driver Verifier according to instructions. When it restarted, the computer wouldn't even restart till it fixed itself. Then it was. I ran WhoCrashed and saw something else on the log so I ran Drive Verifier (since SF Diagnostic kept on crashing itself now!) and zipped the resulting file that popped up on the desktop. I hope I did everything right.

iaStor is Intel Rapid Storage, disc controller driver. Can be used in two different modes. The procedure to deal with it is totally different for every mode.

PxHlpa64 can come from a lot of programs including Roxio and many others.

To determine the proper procedure to deal with the issue, we need to know some more details, we need to see some more files.

But the upload does not contain the msinfo32.nfo file there. The systeminfo.txt file is blanked out, too.

Saying it again, mate ..... if you are reluctant to supply the data, we cannot assist you. And that is why I did not respond earlier ..... I asked for the data many a times, but you are not supplying them, I dont know why.

"I asked for the data many a times, but you are not supplying them, I dont know why."

It's because the procedures for uploading (the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions) aren't working for me. Sf Diagnostic crashes every time I run it (I've downloaded it a few times already and have included a screenshot), and DM Log Collector clearly doesn't collect the necessary info. In fact, DM Log Collector doesn't do what it says it should (download a zipped file onto my desktop). It doesn't do this on my computer. It doesn't even show the file. You have to stop the program in order for the file to not disappear.

If you have any other way to collect the info, please let me know. But Options 1 and 2 no the Blue Screen posting instructions are problematic--at least on my computer. I'll try to run it again.

Meanwhile, if I may interject, get rid of the Nvidia bloatware which is never needed and causes problems.

First uninstall Nvidia software in Control panel>Programs.

Next enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3)
to run all Important and Optional Windows Updates, with reboots, until no more are offered when you Check for Updates.. See if it provides the Display driver, as well as other important patches needed to make the hardware and software run better.

If not import only the driver itself from the Gateway Support Downloads webpage.

I would also run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html to see if you have damaged System files.

Hi, thanks for the advice (and my apologies for not responding sooner; it's been pretty crazy at work). Anyways, I hesitate a bit in uninstalling Nvidia since, as far as I can remember, installing this software was precisely the solution to my last BSOF problems here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/329750-bsod-while-watching-video-not-porn-2.html

I remember also that I followed the instructions posted here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/327414-nvidia-drivers-avoid-problems.html?filter[2]=Hardware%20and%20Drivers

Did I accidentally install more than I should? Thanks.

The Nvidia bloatware package is not needed at all except for the tiny accompanying driver file it bring alongs for your model. So I would uninstall it and then install only the display driver, giving first shot to Windows Update to deliver it under Important or Optional after enabling http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2803-device-installation-settings.html which is how a driver-complete OS is supposed to function.

If Windows Update does not deliver any more than Standard VGA or the driver it delivers is not best, then import only the driver from the OEM's Support Downloads webpage.

If you could see how many problems over the years have been resolved by getting rid of the display bloatware package then you'd understand its priority.

Hi, I've followed all the instructions.

I've removed the Nvidia bloatware, leaving behind only the driver (I've attached the screenshot below).

I've enabled the Automatically deliver drives via Window updates.

And I also ran the SFC /SCANNOW (actually the sfc /verifyonly; it's the same thing right since it said I didn't have "integrity issues”).

So . . . what now? One really frustrating thing is Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions just don’t work for me since neither Option does what it says it’ll do. DM Log Collector never worked for me, and since I ran Driver Verifier, SF Diagnostic always crashes at startup (along with a few other programs). I tried to System Restore, but it tells me it lacks the necessary files to do this.

Can anyone tell me how to at least fix the SF Diagnostic tool so I can see what’s wrong with my system? Because, like I’ve said, it was working fine until I ran the Driver Verifier, which was a step suggested on this forum.

Thanks a bunch!

If the crashes are persisting, I would uninstall even the last two Nvida programs from Control Panel, then reboot and check Device manager for which Display driver is present.

Now enable hardware auto-updating and check for Windows Updates, see what drivers and perhaps important patches it delivers to make your hardware run better. Install all of these except Bing.

Thanks, I'll do that. Any word about making SF Diagnostic work again?

It's likely generalized corruption across the OS.

May I ask how long its been since you did a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 and whether you followed the steps in that tutorial especially as they pertain to drivers?

The factory install is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, one no tech enthusiast would run. The tutorial provides the chance to get the very best, based on what's worked best in Win7 in tens of thousands of installs we've directly helped with here since before it was released. A million users have followed it without a single complaint.

Hi, I've followed the instructions. However, every time I uninstall software, when I reboot, Windows automatically installs it again (with some additional Nvidia programs too!).

Also, the linked driver updater--TweakBit Updater--costs money so I didn't buy it. Can I use a free driver updater like SlimDrivers instead? Should I update all the drivers?

Finally, is there any way to make SF Diagnostic work without a Clean Reinstall? The steps seem very time-consuming. Again, SF Diagnostic was working before I ran the Driver Verifier as recommended the user Arc. Thanks.

Hi, I've followed your instructions and have removed the Nvidia drivers with Drive Sweeper and have updated everything via Windows Updates. Even better, those programs that used to crash now seem to be working, including SF Diagnostic (should I run it and show you its results?). Not sure if the latter is the result of updates or removing Nvidia programs.

However, I have a bit of an issue when it comes to installing new display drivers. My memory must be lagging since I now remember I purchased a Nvidia GeForce graphics card in 2012 to run 2 screens from my computer. Now, when I find the graphics drivers on the Gateway website, I see two options: Nvidia and ATI. Which one should I download? I've included a screenshot to show you what I mean.
