BSOD with new video card

I just purchased a new video card the other day, switching from a Geforce GT 430 to a radeon hd 6670. I was amazed at how well it increased my performance in games, but after about an hour of playing, it suddenly blue screened on me. I had this problem a few times, and eventually switched the cards back out. I'm no longer having any problems, but this new card is quite a bit better. I really want to keep it, if only I could get rid of the problem with the blue screening. Any help getting it to work right?

Scratch that. It just crashed again with my old card.

your last dump is caused by a faulty graphics driver. As you seem to be mixing nvidia and ATI, it is not surprising. One of the flaws of the install/de-install software is that they don't de-install well. You have to do something extra.

In this case, as you want to run the better ATI card....

Go here for info on the latest drivers but also how to fully delete the old.

but before you do that, IF your choice is the Radeon, fully delete the nvidia drivers:

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Driver Sweeper

Driver Sweeper is a fast tool to remove driver leftovers from your system. It's very important to remove your drivers on a proper way, because driver leftovers can cause problems like stability and startup problems. You can use it if you want to update/remove drivers from your system.

How to use ?

There are two methods to use Driver Sweeper.
Both methods achieve the same results. This method is always able to clean all files.

This method will delete remaining files upon reboot (if deleting failed). You can clean your drivers this way:

- Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
- Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
- Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
- Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected.
- More drivers can be selected for the same cleaning process.

What can it be used for ?
The current supported drivers are NVIDIA (Display and Chipset), ATI (Display), Creative (Sound) Realtek (Sound), Ageia (PhysX) and Microsoft (Mouse).

So I figured that after I got the new card working I would tackle another issue, but now I'm starting to wonder if it will be so easy. I have a second card in the computer, a Geforce 8400 in my pci slot. Will it be possible to run the new radeon card along with the old 8400? Not sli or crossfire or anything, just so that I can get extra monitors hooked up.
