Hi everyone. I have a year-old custom HP Pavilion dv6. Never had any problems with it. A couple weeks ago, my university had me install McAfee Endpoint Encryption Software, and BSODs starting piling on. As you can see from the dump files, the problems occur when I'm using the internet (tcpip.sys and nwifi.sys) and when I'm playing videos from the hard drive (ndis.sys). Called HP tech support and they told me to reset to factory settings (I'm not under warranty anymore, so they just want to move me along I feel)--not really willing to do that right away. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello smadug and welcome to Seven Forums.

Can you roll back your computer to a date/time prior to installing the McAfee software with System Restore?

I also found this McAfee knowledge base article on editing the registry to remove all traces of Endpoint Encryption. Before attempting any registry changes it would be a good idea to create a new restore point "just in case".

If still having problems your computer could have damaged/corrupt system files. Try running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan at least 3 times and reboot the computer immediately following each scan.

Hi, thanks for your response. My computer has only four restore points before the one that is labeled "Installed McAfee Agent". Each one of those restore points is labeled "Windows Update". Every time I attempt to restore to any of those points, the process stops midway with a BSOD. I've uploaded the .dmp files ("CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION"). I checked my system files from an elevated command prompt like you instructed, and it found no errors. What can I do??
