Buggy HomeGroup?

Simple problem:
After installing Windows Seven Professional x86 on my Mom's laptop a couple o' days ago, I set up a HomeGroup so we can share files. My mom can easily access my files even from the bedroom (room furtherest from my pc), but when I want to get something from her libraries I usually get rejected saying I don't have permission or her computer disappears from the HomeGroup list. On my mom's PC I have set my computer to be allowed, set all libraries to be shared and I checked "Allow Streaming" so I don't see why I have such a problem... The connection doesn't seem to work even when my mom's laptop is LITERALLY next to the router.
The connections with the router are set up like this:
The router gets the Internet from the DSL cable, I get the Internet with another cable coming out of the router (Port 1). My mom gets a wireless connection from the router, but since her laptop is kinda old, she uses a USB WLAN stick to get it. It's a... TP-LINK USB WLAN device or something...
So you got any idea why I have this problem?

Take a look at the Advanced Sharing Settings. There's a few settings down the list. Make sure they're consistent between your PC and your moms.

Also review the drivers for the USB wireless stick. Make sure they're up to snuff.

Your PC is W7 as well right?

Double check with the steps in the tutorial below to see if there may have been anything that you missed on both computers while setting up the HomeGroup.

Nope there is nothing buggy about Homegroup at all "not for me anyway on 6 completely different machines". If there is a problem it is most likely with your drivers hardware or the way you set up the Homegroup.

The problem could easily be with the laptops TP-LINK USB WLAN device. Or it could even be a router compatiblity problem. I can check for compatiblity on both devices but I need to have the exact product name number and version before I can check.

I didn't have that WLAN Partitions disabled in my router! Thanks! I double checked everything and it is funny working.

Yes those tutorials come in handy because usually it's the little things that keep Homegroup from working correctly.

What's interesting is that the first time I tried it it still had the same bug, but after rebooting the laptop everything seemed to work fine. Proof:

Yes rebooting after changing network settings tends to fix those types of problems. It's a bit trickier setting up Homegroup from a wireless connection.
