Hello there,

I'm just wondering if it's possible to activate windows 7 build 7600 x64?
And will it just stop working in september or something like that?

Thanks.

No. It is in the RTM line and will need a real key. Not sure if it is the final RTM but is definitely a candidate. You can rearm for up to 120 days, then it will go in to reduced functionality mode.

Yes same command but you wouldn't need it for 7100 as MS gives out keys for that which are good until march 2010.

Was going to say, no need to try and activate right now anyways. Rearm it till you get your upgrade disk and then you will be fine, which I would just install it over again. As for any other way to activate it, it is not allowed to be talked about in the forums. So please don't ask or post links to those sources.

People pay $60-$70 for one single xbox 360 game...like its not even expensive..the computers we own for the most part Im sure cost at least $200.00...and thats considered "cheap"..but they offer an OS for $49.99 and its like "ARE U KIDDIN' ME?!"

And dont even get me started on "texting"...its become an epidemic. My 11 year old stepdaughter cannot stop, but I sure as heck can stop paying for it :P

50 for an os? What OS are you talking about? If it's windows 7 I'd like to know where you got this price lol

I'm running build 7264 x64, but I will be wiping it in October as my lovely package from Comet will arrive at a cost of only £89.98 for 2 Home Premium Editions! I was one of the lucky ones and ordered these on the first day of Microsoft's offer. I'm certainly not going to bother checking out any more builds now, don't see any point. It's been fun though!
Now looking forward to the future testing of Windows 8.

There's supposed to be a $150 3-pack Home Premium upgrade (mentioned in the EULA, and some online retailers accidentally leaked the price), so that'll come out to $50 each--same as the pre-order's $50 for a HP upgrade. If you missed the pre-order special, then you can wait for this "family pack", assuming you have at least 3 systems.

You can (legally) rearm the trial period 3 times, giving you 120 days to activate. Windows 7 should be on shelves by then.

You can (legally) rearm

The grace period is supposed to be used by people who already have a license and need the time to subscribe to an Internet connection or handle other logistics. Using Windows 7 RTM without a key, even during the grace period is technically illegal (though, admittedly, nobody is going to go after you for that). Also, many people seem to misunderstand the rearm and misstate that it's "legal". No, it's not. The rearm is intended for OEMs to reset to a clean slate for the purpose of preinstalls and imaging. Use by the end user is not "legal" in the technical sense (this is on top of the "illegal" use of the grace period).

It's true that MSFT probably doesn't care and they certainly are not going to go after people for this, but that doesn't make it legal. Call it "something you can almost certainly get away with" if you want, but don't call it "legal".
