Solved burning CD/DVD is a nightmare in windows 7 pro

I spent the last 4 hours trying to burn files to a DVD in Windows 7 Pro.
Finally I had to resort to InfroRecorder to do the job.
This is ridiculous.
Nothing needs to be that difficult.

To be fair, more information would be helpful if you want your problem looked at.

What were you trying to burn? What type of discs were you using? Which file format were you using? What speed were you trying to burn at? What are your computer specs?

I don't get it, are you asking for help, or just upset and venting? Because you may want to contact Microsoft if you have a complaint.

Normally, burning data in win7 is very straight forward and simple. Something is wrong, if you'd like to take seavixen32's advice, we're happy to help.

I can't think of a single problem I have had burning a disc in windows for the last few years. Would you care to give more details and maybe we can help figure out a problem you might be having and fix it?

Thanks folks for responding.
I was using Windows 7 Live File System Format.
The DVD Mfg. is Memorex.
The files I was trying to burn were text files, not audio or video
The speed used is the default in Windows 7.
The compter is a Dell T3400 running an upgrade version of Windows 7 pro.
The upgrade version took me from Vista to Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.
It is a valid licensed version.
Running ESET SS and CCleaner. Using the firewall in ESET SS.
Windows Firewall is turned off. Windows Defender is turned off.
Any other info you need I will be happy to supply.

You need to describe what you did, and how it failed. For example did you drag & drop to the disc, and Windows simply wouldn't write it? Did it throw an error? etc etc

Two things:

I don't recommend the use of CCleaner with windows 7, it is light enough and cleans itself often enough to warrant not using something like that, and have had numerous reports of problems, here and with my clients.

Two, I have had problems on and off with memorex. I think their QC is very lax, because they seem to come in batches of bad disks. I had an ISO image fail about six or seven times in a row, then I switched to Sony DVD and burned sucessfully four more times. Switched back to a memorex disc and it failed again twice.

Click on the upper right and type "Solved" in the reply.

   Tip

I have been using Ccleaner for many years with no malfunction as windows doesn't clean itself of history, temp files, passwords, thumbnail cache, typed URL's etc

Good to know that your problem is solved. You can click on the Red Triangle on the top right corner and type solved.

But do not do that before you let us know what solved the problem. Otherwise it will have no meaning as many people will be looking into the thread for solutions on how to solve their own and similar problems.

It's the triangle at the top-right of the comment box, I've taken the liberty to report the thread as solved, but what exactly was the solution? It'll help others who experience anything similar.
