Buttons, drop down menus & other misc things are blank

Ok... Here is my situation.

On my fiends computer, which is running Win7 x64 Ultimate, any button (Yes, No, Next, Cancel) or drop down menu is blank. In addition to that, some windows will open in some pretty wacky ways.

Here is the direct scenario of how I discovered this...

I was there to repair the installation of Google Chrome (Just uninstalled and reinstalled) and while I was doing so I noticed the the buttons in the installer window were blank. They were they and functional...but completely empty along with some text that should of been within the window (License Agreement and what not). This was the case with anything I did that brought me to a window with buttons. I installed Adobe Acrobat, CCleaner and Malwarebytes...all the same problem.

I figured it may be a problem with the GFX drivers, so I downloaded and tried to install the latest drivers. This is when I ran into windows opening up in some wack proportions. Either EXTREMELY short and wide...like it took a ton of clicking and dragging to pull the portion of the window in view so i could close it.

Any ideas at all as to what would be causing this??

Perform a SFC Scan

1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow

2. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. Be patient because the scan may take some time

3. If any files require a replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Windows 7 DVD for this process to continue

4. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

5. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

Boot into Safe Mode to run a full updated Malwarebytes scan.

You may need to run it more than once.

thanks for putting over repeating the scan several times you can be surprised what windows finds sometimes.

Holy crap... The log file is huge... Um is this a bad thing?? What the crap do I do now?? (log attached)

Is it possible the font color is set to the same color as the background thereby making it look empty?
