IE 10 Clicking in Search box only briefly shows drop down menus

I just found out what causes the problem to occur. In my last post, I said I was going to install one last toolbar. That toolbar is the Time Warner Cable tool bar. I just installed it and the problem reappeared. Luckily, it went away when I uninstalled it. The strange thing is that it's been installed first, as the RoadRunner toolbar and then as the TWCC toolbar for over a year and it's never caused a problem. The other strange thing is that when I was doing all this trouble shooting, I had uninstalled it but the problem was still there.

It was surmised that was the cause, but I can see how you went past it if uninstalling did not change it. A Guy

Do you NEED Java? If you don't have a particular use for it, try without it. I have had no need for it. It is the #1 attack vector for malicious items these days. A Guy

I agree a hundred percent,
Oracle "Java" is now on a quarterly update cycle which means it's one of the most dangerous add-ons a person can have installed,

As I mentioned earlier, I had Java completely uninstalled when I was trouble shooting. The only thing I didn't do is make registry edits to make it completely gone. The other thing is that the problem doesn't occur when using FireFox when the toolbar and Java are installed.

It's just conflicting with IE 9 and 10. When I uninstalled the toolbar, I was asked automatically why I uninstalled. I provided the appropriate information and forwarded it to them. I'll see if I got a response when I get on that system later.

We're not saying Java was your problem. Just that it's likely unneeded, and a big security issue

I went to the live chat at TWC yesterday. The guy didn't have a clue. I mean, when you tell someone that it happens in IE 9 and 10 but doesn't occur in Firefox and they come back and tell you that you can use a later version of IE or switch browsers and it will work, you know you're in trouble. He sent the problem to the TWC developers so now I'm waiting.

Along with ISP's poor Browser add-ons they also have pretty bad customer support,
I've never actually used any ISP utilities/ homepages....
All I need is an internet connection from them,
