Well my brother seems to get through to my laptop even when its password protected and he definitely does not know the password.. (Can anyone tell me is it possible.. )
(i randomized a password, and he still got in.. -.- )

How do you know he gains access to the computer? If you are sure he knows the password, perhaps he is using a keylogger.

You could, of course, ask him; unless there is some sort of sibling rivalry.

I am not 100% sure, but probably it is possible by using any Linux live distributions .

There are n Number of ways to Break the Windows 7 Passwords, guess i have 7 more tips pretty handy works all the time

Number 1: Yo Brother might have turned on the Guest account when u allowed him to work with ur laptop with admin privilges, so he might have enabled Guest account , Then Instead of typin Your User name in the logon screen , he would type GUEST that allow him to Log on into ur Lappy


Number 2: This is the awesome Trick all the Windows 7 and Vista Have Hidden Administrator Account , I reckon he might have enabled that and trippin you Bro,

To Enable that Fire Up Ur CMD Prompt with admin elevated Mode

Number 3: He might have done this also , Looged in ur Lap using the Guest account and then he might have typed CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 In the Run Commannd ...from that He might have added a new account for Him !


Number 4: With the Guest account he don have admin Privilges to his Command Prompt, But There is a exploit for that , Click on start Type CMD in the search Box, then Press ctrl and Enter that will pull a CMD Box from windows/system32 folder with elevated admin mode , then he may begin launching the User add command to add a account for him

(There is still two more method and also One is that you need to find the cmd.exe in windows folder rename it to sethc.exe then Log off the system and press Shift key 5 times it will bring the CMD in elevated mode And another method is Open up the Notepad Type @echo off command.com and save it as cmd.bat ...then log off and click on that it will bring the cmd in admin mode )

c:\windows\system32\ user add Corrupt DNA (This will create a new user profile for him)


Number 5: Ophcrack Live Or Hirens Boot CD , Or NT Offfline Password Recovery Or KAIN and ABEL software may be Behind this Brotherlyhood Playin games !!

@SirGeorge .. and its a laptop, if he had a keylogger on , i wud have known.. no he thinks he has more knowledge about computers than me, so he wants me to figure it out myself..

@DeaconFrost He is VERY tech Savy.. i learned how to use the computer at the age of 8 or so because of him, and became more interested and learned a lot of things from him as well..

@Surensach I dont think hes using konboot, he may be that will require him to restart the computer.. which i dont think he did.. he logged into my main account.. (the one i use everyday that has admin privs) and came back out and im sure he doesnt know the password..and the password was the same.. i use cmd, and the other administrator account still has my password on it so he didnt use that one..

the shift 5 times way for that he either needs to use cmd from my account or use a windows cd cmd.. >.> ..

and no, i dont think hes using linux.. (but i do leave my things lying around, and there is a ubuntu cd next to my laptop.. )

If i challenge him to open it again, he will.. is there anyway to find out how he does it, by installing a software or some shiz..

can he use the asp.net account even though it does not show when u log off?

Create a more secure password, at least 8 chars in length, with alpha, numbers and characters and secure it somewhere only you know where it is.

and change your login to the new password.

Well to me one thing is certain. There is no way that you are going to solve this problem from suggestions on this thread as sure as eggs are eggs, your brother is reading evey post on this thread and will always be one step ahead. He must be laughing his socks off. Indeed non of us know all the other posters here so he may even be one of them! Creepy!
BTW You haven't by chance got a Stik It note with your password stuck to the front of the screen have you?
One suggestion for you, how about when you finish a session putting the laptop in a locked drawer? Or is that a daft idea?

You might see if you may be able to use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to have Windows require a USB flash drive to be able to login at system startup may help keep him out.

lol he just maybe, he does monitor my internet activity sometimes when his internet is lagging or hes bored.. one of the cons of a linksys router.. -.-

hmm... that might just solve the problem.. but the thing is i leave my laptop open most of the times and when leaving, i just press windows key + L to log off.. >.> .. so if i want him not to open my laptop then ill need to hilbernate every time.. right?

The tutorial below would only work if you shut down the computer when you are done with it since it only prevents access at startup if you don't have the USB flash drive connected.

USB Secure Login is usefull and this idea didnt pop up in mi Mind, or if u want to use alpha numeric , ascii password combination do check ur Password strength using this site its awesome
