Hello

I have some issues with my notebook's HDD SATA 2.5

I connected it to my desktop computer via cables NOT USB enclosure

Win7 detected it and took 3 minutes to install new hardware and asked me to restart

after that, I am trying to access it from My Computer as it's labeled F: but it takes a lot of time and then asks me to format the drive which I don't want to for sure

Disk Management is showing the HDD and its capacity, so I tried changing Volume Label to X: but still it doesn't open

and it sometimes say: X: is not accessible Error Data CRC

*I already Have the main harddisk labeled C: which include win7 and a partition labeled D:

any help plz?? screenshot available

Hi Lebdorz,

What exactly was the problem in your Notebook that prompted you to pull it out and put it as a secondary drive on a desktop?

If you want to recover data, please do not do a diskpart clean or format the drive.

RAW

What was on the HDD previously?

It's possible that the HDD has suffered some sort of failure (e.g. controller).
According to the sceenshot it has no file system that Windows can read.

RAW file system
What is RAW file system?

A question for any member who uses an encrypted HDD.
What does an encrypted HDD look like in Windows Disk Management?
