Can I continue working on Windows while service pack 1 is being instal

Can I continue working on Windows 7 while service pack 1 is being installed. Cause it takes upto 5 hours to get service pack installed.

It doesn't take 5 hours... how do you know anyway?

You can work normally with computer when:

• Downloading the stuff
• Installing the stuff

The last step asks you to reboot and configures the stuff. Takes maybe 15 minutes to complete.

it took me about 30-35 minutes for me on the computer I did the other night

I personally don't do anything on my computers when downloading or installing SP-1 or any other Windows Updates. I don't want anything to interfere with the process. Knock on wood; I don't have update problems.
It takes however long it takes but I have never got even close to 5 hours.

Question, your specs show no Anti Virus Program. WHY?

On domain joined computers I have observed that it takes approx 5 hours to install. I am using offline installer of sp1.

I have observed this becuase i have manually updated approximately 2 dozen systems
