Iassume you like W7 and will buy it in October to install it. so why not risk losing Vista? with W7 Vista us worthless in comparison. i see some merits of keeping XP 9for laptops etc.), but none for Vista, especially not an OEM Vista.
In addition, whatever the OEM did to make vista be his version is BS anyway. the only good OS is a fresh one from MS without the OEM junk.
you should have a DVD with the Vista OS anyway. If it only is on your HDD, then they cheated you because you lose it if you need a new HDD.
