Solved Can no longer resize Photoshop Elements window by selecting border

A few weeks ago when I opened Photoshop Elements, its window was wide enough to cover most of both my monitors, and I can no longer resize it by dragging the borders of the window as I have always done in the past. It will minimize, maximize and restore but will not resize. I have tried using the system menu Size option. This moves the cursor to the edge of the window but does not allow me to select or move the border. I cannot remember messing with any Windows 7 settings, cannot find any Photoshop specific settings for this issue, and cannot find any threads for a similar problem. Help would be appreciated.

At the risk of sounding super obvious and insulting, have you shut down your machine (not sleep or hibernate) and restarting it?

If so, try going to Programs and Features in the Control Panel, click on Photoshop elements, and see if there is a repair option. If not, go ahead and delete it, then reinstall it.

Thanks. Yes, it's been rebooted several times, and I checked previously for the repair option. There is none. Guess I'll try a reinstall.

have you looked at the view tab and then screen mode. make sure its not in full screen mode.

Boobah, which view tab? I cannot find a full screen mode option in Photoshop preferences, View or Window. Uninstall and reinstalling the program did not work.

ok sorry, i was having a guess as i have photoshop cs6 not elements.
in the view tab on the top menu next to window there is a sub menu named screen mode,
it has a pop out that gives you options to have full screen mode or not.

i see there is a screen grabber at the bottom right of elements after looking at a screenshot of it online , i guess if it wont adjust from there and you clean installed Elements.
it may mean you need to restore the default preferences

if none of that works then it may be a windows issue if so i would try a sfc scan to see if that helps

Boobah: I was not aware of the screen grabber. In the past I was able to move the individual window borders. The screen grabber did the trick. Thank you!
