Why wouldn't it ?

with only 2gb ram, 32 bit is more suitable than 64 bit.

That laptop has a very weak processor, so unless you tweak Windows 7 for maximum performance, expect it to run like a turtle.

I have an old laptop with these specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon64 Mobile 3400+ CPU (2.2GHz) (1-core/1-thread)
RAM: 2GB
CPU Mark: 500

It came with Windows XP Home but I replaced it with Windows 7 Home Premium. It is rather slow but somewhat usable.

The desktop graphics were sluggish so I changed the Visual Effects to "Adjust for best performance". That disabled the 3-D effects which made the desktop icons look bland and flat but the speed boost was worth it.

My cousin's HP Pavilion dv6648se entertainment notebook PC used to have a similar config (old CPU was an Intel Core 2 T5250 CPU and had 2 GB of RAM), pre-installed with Win Vista Home Premium 32bit. he had that old HP laptop pc since mid-2008.
Upgraded the laptop from Vista to Win7 several years ago.

A few years ago, when he asked me to fix & upgrade his laptop (it runs Win7 instead of Vista), I replaced the CPU on there (I had to barely dis-assemble the whole HP laptop just to reach the laptop cpu socket on there), with an Intel Core 2 T9500 CPU, up the RAM to 4Gb (2 x 2Gb) and replace the western digital 250gb HDD with a western digital 320gb HDD and then re-assemble the HP laptop and it nearly runs like a horse (and the T9500 CPU has cooler temps since I applied some arctic mx4 thermal paste after I scrubbed off the old thermal compound on there) :-)

That laptop has a very weak processor, so unless you tweak Windows 7 for maximum performance, expect it to run like a turtle.

yup, the T5250 Intel processor is kinda weak these days, unless the OP can ask someone to change the CPU on there (like to either a T9300 or T9500, which I have the latter one on my cousin's HP laptop)

Switching the T5250 to a T9500 was a good move because it pretty much doubled the speed and performance of the processor.
