Solved Cannot Access Gmail With Firefox 34 Beta 2
mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
I also cannot access PayPal due to the above.

Because this feature is not a bug, it will be in the Final Release of Firefox 34. That is how come.

I've also heard that some AV's have built in SSL scanning that can cause problems with secure sites and turning off this feature might solve the problem.

A test
You could try portable (zipped) Cyberfox. Intel or AMD version depending upon your Motherboard. It uses it's own profile so won't screw up Firefox. Run it and if you get the same problem accessing gmail then it's not a Firefox issue.
