The primary modem is a WRT600N and the secondary bridged modem is a E3000.

I tried connecting to the E3000, as I have done in the past, by using an Ethernet connection between it and my laptop. Each of these modems has a different password, yet when I use the Linksys standard 192.168.1.1 at the laptop, the WRT600N log-on appears and I cannot get to the E3000 at all.

I tried turning off the WRT600N and used a neighbor's WiFi, to bypass the WRT600N, up pops the neighbor's modem name requesting a password.

I cannot ping it either, but I am able to ping other network units from my desktop.

I need to make some security mode changes, yet I do not know what else to do to get inside the E3000.

Are you trying to get to your modem or to those routers? The WRT600N and the Linksys E3000 are routers.

It sounds like the subnet and/or IP address of the router has been changed. I would take the E3000 and connect it directly to your computer via ethernet cable and configure it. If DHCP has been turned off on the E3000, do a hard reset - that will set the Linksys back to the default 192.168.1.1.
