So I upgraded to Windows 7 this weekend and if I have my WPA2 password protection enabled on my wireless it won't connect. But if I make it so theres no password it will connect and I can go on the internet. Any thoughts on why this is? I don't want to leave my router unprotected....

mine did that too, i had to install my router program for it to work.
my friend said that if you change your password type (from wep to something else) it might work.

What do u mean it won't connect? Was it able to see the wireless network at all, or the security key won't get accepted?

I can see all the networks in range including my own. I put the correct password in and it says Cannot connect and tells me to goto the troubleshoot program. I disable the password from my moms laptop and it connects just fine. I'm using WPA2 protection. Maybe I'll try WEP. Just curious if anyone else had an issue like this and if they found out how to fix it?

If the password matches the one you set your wireless network up it should work 100%. Maybe you haven't successfully saved the new password at the router's end.

Try resetting the router and then reconfiguring the options through the control panel (usually browser-based).

im having similar problems. i can detect the wireless router but cannot connect to it "windows was unable to connect to xxxx" xxxx being my network. ive turned off all security just to see if i can connect at all.
my iphone picks up the wifi and can use it but windows 7 wont have it.
im using a belkin n wireless router and an acer aspire laptop with a broadcom 802.11n adaptor. ive updated firmware and drivers for everything and ive searched forums for other help. this seems to be quite a common problem.
