Solved Cannot delete backed up files

I have a backup on my external drive. One of the backup directories was Windows. I cannot delete some of the windows folders as I get an error saying that I have to be an administrator. I am the administrator, and after I click a button confirming that, I still am not allowed to erase the folder. Any suggestions?

If you are using the Windows Backup feature, then the tutorial below can help show you the proper method for deleting backups.

If you are no longer able to use the method above due to what you already deleted, then you could see if using the free program Unlocker may allow you to delete them. Afterwards, you can use the tutorial below to reset Windows Backup so it will not continue to reference what you deleted.

When I tried running that file, Malwarebytes gave me a warning. So I went to download.com and got it from there. But when I ran it, nothing happened, its not in right click menu and I don't see it. However I tried BCwipe and it did the trick. Thanks.

It's a false positive for Unlocker.

That's great news Bob. Don't forget to reset Windows Backup to get rid of the old backup reference.
