Greetings all,
I need help with a toshiba laptop that just decided not boot into Windows. Here is what I faced and what I had done so far to get its system to load:
Using Hirens BootCD on USB stick, I opened CMD and typed "chkdsk /f and returned this:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.
Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected.
--------------------
I powered off the laptop and took out the Hirens BootCD, inserted my USB Win7 and chose to run system startup repair and get this:
Startup Repair diagnosis and repair log
--------------
Number of repair attempts: 1
Session details
-------------------------
System disk =\Device\Harddisk0
Windows directory = E:\Windows
Autochk Run = 0
Number of root causes = 1
Test Performed:
Name: Check for updates.
Result: Completed successfully. Error code = 0x0
Time taken = 0 ms
Test Performed:

Test Performed:
--------------------------
Name: Disk failure diagnosis.
Result: Completed successfully. Error code = 0x0

Then I ran these commands as seen here: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/198470-windows-failed-start-can-t-find-operating-system.html and what I get is detailed in the attached file.
Any advice/tips will be highly appreciated.
Thanks much in advance and God bless,
