Long time lurker, first time poster. I have tried for months to find an answer to my problem without luck, so now I'm asking for specific help. There are threads that mention my issue, but no definitive answer to my specific problem.
I am running Win 7 Pro 64. IE Version 9.0.8112.16421.
Every time I try to update (3x now) to IE 10 (or higher), the update completes, but I lose all cookies and history. In addition, I cannot change the location of the temporary internet files, nor the size of that cache. When I downgrade back to IE9, they come back like nothing happened. I have reviewed the registry til I'm blue in the face, but everything LOOKS to point in the correct place.
NOTE 1: I use a separate data drive (E) (raided) than my OS Drive (C) and moved that profile to that new location.
NOTE 2: At this moment, I get an error message when I attempt to create a new user profile. I have a feeling these all point to the same problem.
NOTE 3: I built two IDENTICAL machines at the same time (office and home); my home machine upgraded without issue to IE10 and now 11...So I am pretty sure it's not any hardware issue, but something in the registry is somehow scrambled (or file folder permissions)...
I have read several times that IE10 changes the default TIF location, but can't change it after upgrading.
I am having more and more trouble getting IE9 to function on many sites, so I'm biting the bullet and asking for help with this. Thank you!!!
