I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using the Canon S45 and windows 7.

I have both files installed that canon offers for Windows 7 with this model of camera, however my computer will not detect the camera and allow me to take the photos off of it.

I'd rather not have to use a card reader is possible and I was just hoping that someone here would have an idea for me. I'm about to try installing the windows XP driver for it, so here comes a huge fail.

Welcome to Seven Forums willsgotdeals. Did you try it without installing anything? Microsoft says windows supports that model natively without any additional software. If you didn't try it without Canon's software. Try uninstalling all the drivers, reboot and connect the camera to see if windows doesn't work fine without anything additional.
